The story is not straight. A Priest is the easiest person to trace and reach at anytime anywhere. The story is not straight at all. Your money was (assumed) stolen and because of illness you could not go see the bishop for more than 10 years. There is another parish priest there, there is parish council. Why did he not start from there.

If you do come let me educate you or meet a professional counselor and keep quite and stop being NEGATIVE and don't make comments when you don't know people's pain after being defrauded by a priest who's supposed to be a custodian of authority in church
