  • Spring is here on the Gulf Coast of Texas. That means our migratory fish are here as well. Jacks, tarpon, kingfish and cobia are all common targets for the fly fishing guides at Fly Fish Rockport this time of year.
The Shminnow is one of our favorite flies for Jack Crevalle here in Texas. Although it can work well for tarpon as well. The pattern is a bit more sleek than other topwater flies, making it much easier to cast. Yet it still floats well and dives when stripped.
Tying this fly is Fly Fish Rockport Captain, guide and resident fly tying nerd, Captain Gibson. He demonstrates the ease of this pattern that is sure to be a great addition to your fly box.
