If a person drops out from an MBBS course he ceases to be a doctor anymore! So i dont know what you mean by saying ""Dropout" doctors". Plus i certainly wont like to take my family to a doctor who has absolutely no interest in what he is doing and is doing it just because the society, peer pressure and parental pressure has forced him to do it

Our GPAs 10, which is ridiculous and somewhere its just percentages and 0.9 GPA doesn't mean 90% by the way. India is probably the only country in the world where people love to study mathematics in school, then graduate in Engineering, then post-graduate in Business Management, work as a Banker and then reattempt and retire in Civil Services. And yes, the education and placement system was so biased towards English, I had a fellow classmate who was hard-working and bright, but schooled in Hindi. And English got the better of him, so much so that by the end of the term, he struggled to get good grades and didn't get placed in any company. But I last heard from him, he is doing very much okay in his own stuff. I can vouch for one thing very clearly, and that is; Engineering in India, might not teach you much engineering after all. But it makes you a tougher human being, that knows how to laugh off of the face of your problems. All of this is coming from a Mathematics scholar, who graduated in Electronics, works in a Software Company, but what I really want to do doesn't matter and that sucks.
More then monolog this is better. Cause that whats make us that human being who stands out in every corner of this world.

It is strange that everyone wanted to be an Astronomer in their childhood, scientist when they are of 6-10. And after we they attained their teenage they develop an hobby/passion towards a specific subject. But unfortunately, everyone doesn't get the proper guidance or the proper resources to be the best in what they are passionate about.
The thing he said which happens only in India is the HR Interview Round for placements - Human Resources conduct a specific personality test for super technical jobs.
Annie It might be a sincere analysis of the person over there, but unfortunately in India it is a chance for the HR executives to stroke themselves while they are watching the candidate jump hoops for an opportunity to earn a paycheck while they earn their commission for another recruit. The HR jobs in India are a power trip.
Every word of that Monologue is correct in Indian context. There is not even little bit of exaggeration!!

Not only engineering India's whole educational system is like that. I am also a robot now working in market research company. But all I wanted to do is trekking, mountaineering, ice climbing and stuff like that.😇

I realised that after following the channel for so long, I have internalised the reactions of Jaby, Achara and other reactors on the channel so much that I go through the same thought process what they're expressing, like when they seem serious it does feel serious or when they don't understand something I'm almost explaining it to them cause it literally feels like watching in the same room with them!

In college we r given sgpa not cgpa.
I dont know if sgpa's average will result in actual cgpa formed at the end.i mean ovrrall cgpa.
In our college we have Cgpa for sem and Sgpa for entire course. Average of cgpa with backlog credits taken into account was sgpa. And to convert into percentage, (sgpa -0.75) * 10. And yes, tge percentage will be less but I understood this system only after getting into the college amd having no way to bailout. And tge final effect of this system hits when we get the cut off percentage during placement. And there we go, our personal hell that we chose for ourselves.
It's different for different universities. At ours, CGPA was out of 9.
I love how Jaby understands stuff like this. I really recommend Honest Engineer Placement Podcast it gives us a strong insight into their lives.
Our system expects us to decide what we want to be by the time we are 15. As soon as you are out of 10th everyone you know will tell you to go for Medical or Engineering. By the time you figure it out yourself, you will be stuck deep into all that mess. I am not an Engineering graduate but I enjoyed this one a lot and could relate to it at various points.
He actually explained the life of a student in just one video... Wow.. Nice reaction

Most kids in india are brought up to be Engineer or a Doctor, me included. Being an engineering student, all engineers can relate with this video. Its true when they say all about the subjects, viva, lab, internal, external, minor projects, major projects, project reviews, module tests... and after all of this, every engineering student , regardless of the department or disciple he studied, ends up in an IT COMPANY!! This Btech is a burden which is difficult to carry...

So here, we have 2 grading scales--- 1) GPA out of a max 10 or 2) percentage out of 100
It is not easy to break threshold and escape out in our country. If you do something out of line, It will cost you everything but here we are, fighting our battles to achieve our dreams and it doesn't matter what problems we face. We are Indians. We can do anything if we want to......

Really true . I am also an engineering student and everytime , it's all about going in the class , sit in the class from 9am till 4pm with just one hour break in between . Nth gets in , no talks about passion and it's what I call as I don't like to explain 🤣🤣🤣.

It took me a couple of replays to fully appreciate the lead character’s skill and you have been quick and natural at this (btw, he is Naveen Polishetty from Hyderabad)! If you didn’t know yet - a tidbit is that guy is from south India and Hindi is not his mother tongue but Telugu is.. but check out his fluency in that Hindi monologue! And also he just recently got a break in tollywood (Telugu films) with his 2nd! 👍

My dad said," aisa hi karega to agay koi nahi puchega" it shook me for a few days and then I started to use my year drop to.find something I love

Yeah we know that most successful people didn't go to college or dropouts but , it doesn't work like that here, people might ask you what you do for a living in US, but here people ask what have you studied and what are you doing currently. Here everybody is supposed to complete college for no reason as thats what society demands here , they don't care about your passion!
