I remember Soul Beat so well, used to watch Computers and You every weekend. I remember when Chuck Johnson passed so vividly because it was my birthday. Loved those TV shows they made. I remember calling Yusef Bey and debating an issue on his talk show. I never knew they were the first all video music channel.

Man.....is there any footage of the early shows 1978-1982? I was on there and I became Lead singer of Slave. I met Mr. Johnson and he let me sing The Dazz Band and Stevie Wonder with no music!!! That gave me confidence I sang every song on the New Plateau album by Slave and I joined slave on the Bad Enuff Album taking the place of the Amazing Steve Arrington!

I was on Soul beat once in the 90’s I can’t remember if it was for school or the choir I was in but I totally went to Eastmont dusty ass mall to be on the show. I didn’t get to say shit from what I remember but I don’t really remember much from the 90’s anymore!

The one statement that in the 70s and 80s blacks weren't on tv is a crock of poop. Plenty of Blkack shows back then.
