  • This one slipped through the net but now I have caught up and made the video. It is a great product and makes accurate cuts and repeat cuts on your tracksaw cutting station very easy indeed.

    Haven't checked the specs on the dogs, but there's a few thoughts coming to mind: I would like to see a crank/lever or star-knob instead of the discs for fixing the dogs that hold the fence, seeing that you reach underneath and have to try to get a proper grip. Other thing is if the dogs and the fixing mechanism are limited in thickness of the benchtop. Other than that, nice new addition to the product portfolio.

    Thanks for the video. I think for small pieces like you cut at the end I would move the fence closer, perhaps on the middle row of holes you have, to save reaching so far over the bench.

    I use the Makita corded track saw with this. As the motor housing on this saw sticks out (more than the Festool it would seem), it would hit the fence when it was placed up against the rail. Thus I had to leave a greater distance between the end of the fence and the track. So worth checking before you stick down the tape measure.

    Can this new fence be used in conjunction with the smaller Parf 600mm or 1000mm fence on the cut/waste side....or are the offsets from the doog positions different? So you have to use the screw on large discs on the dogs as shown in video. ...Can you buy a shorter fence of this style for cut/waste side for full support.....if the above will not work?

  • @brianjsaville
    @brianjsaville Před 5 měsíci

    Hi Peter. I have watched this video along with the videos you have on the 600mm and 1000mm Parf System Fences. I am trying to decide which to buy - or both - and I'd love to hear your thoughts about this subject. I can certainly see use cases for both. Though I have noted in your recent videos you primarily use the fence referenced in this video. Do you have any advice? Also, longer term it would be great to see a video on how you use both whether independently or together in the same workflow. Happy New Year and best wishes for a successful 2024. I look forward to your response!

    • @NewBritWorkshop
      @NewBritWorkshop  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Hi Brian, I will try and cover your points in a video in the very near future. In essence, the 1000 mm is (for me) perfect for the tracksaw cutting station and I would choose the shorter version for the Kapex. All the best to you and your family for 2024. Cheers. Peter

  • @keiththompson8289

    Peter, I have to query as to why you wouldn't butt the guide rail up against the end of the fence, when the guide rail is secured with the UJK guide rail dogs and clips there is almost no chance of any guide rail movement. I would suggest that with the fence back from the guide rail there would be potential for movement. Yes, some other brands of guide rail saws may require the fence to be spaced from the fence, but certainly not the Festool system. Nice video of my last new product for Axminster before retirement though, thanks!

    • @NewBritWorkshop
      @NewBritWorkshop  Před 2 lety

      Hi Keith, I am worried that in order for me (as I am using the rail clips) to remove my rail easily I have to tilt it against the long axis by about 45 degrees. If the rail and fence were in contact then the rail would scrape against the fence. Peter

    I can't seem to find this product on the TSO site. Benchdogs has a similar setup, but I worry their dogs may fit too loosely. You want a fence to be solid... particularly a tall fence.

    • @NewBritWorkshop
      @NewBritWorkshop  Před 11 měsíci

      If TSO do not have it then go to the Axminster site, choose $US as your currency and the basket will show shipping costs - many people have been surprised by the competitive pricing and the speed of delivery. Peter

    Does the cordless festool clear the fence (against the lower battery) on conventional 3/4” (or 19mm) ply stock?

    • @NewBritWorkshop
      @NewBritWorkshop  Před rokem +1

      I am unable to answer that as I do not have that machine having only borrowed one for a demo video a while ago. If it does not clear the fence it is easy to sort out by sliding the fence away a dash or putting in a pair of offset holes for the tall dogs. Peter

    Hi Peter. I have purchased the 1000mm System Fence and am considering purchasing the Fence and Length Stop. When both are installed in their dog holes, would the Fence and Length Stop and the System Fence provide a straight edge to cut against ?

    • @NewBritWorkshop
      @NewBritWorkshop  Před 9 měsíci

      The System Fence sits back about 12.5 mm from the front of the front of the Fence and Length Stop. There had been consideration of making the two compatible but the latter could not be made any narrower and the System Fence would have to be made very wide indeed. Peter

    Another great product. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any supplier in the USA that Carries the old low profile fence with the stop or this new fence including TSOproduct company which I used before to buy all my UJK products.
    Do you know any supplier in the USA that sell these fences with stops. I am very much interested in buying both fences.
    Please review and let me know.
