My Record Store Day 2024 Haul!

- Though I have begun to sour on Record Store Day in general, I must admit that this year's "holiday" was pretty effin' exceptional! I tend to hit the stores after lunch. I'm not one to wait overnight or stand in long lines -- I'm too impatient. However, as I rolled up to both Homer's and Vinyl Cup, there were still lines extending far outside the confines of the store. It would seem that I was going to have to deal with a little inconvenience.
It was worth it! I got the two main items on my agenda, then picked up a bunch more. I definitely blew the budget. Maybe I'll cut back on food this month...

As a fellow Omahan I just subscribed to your channel.
We got to Vinyl Cup at 7:00AM and finally made it in the store at 9:50AM. I did get everything I was after as well.
Went to Lowes at 1:00 and there were still at least 30 people waiting to just get in the door at Recycled Sounds.

I do not like to comment on anything like I am about to say because it always sounds hokey. But you were the first person that I thought of when I saw that the Cabaret Metro show was being released. I did see the Eric Carr box set. How does it sound? Love the color of the Pixies. You grabbed some good ones Dave. I am with you. Waiting in lines can be a bit daunting. I am usually the first in line because a friend of mine opens the mall. But yesterday there were five really young kids that got in before me. Long story. Only three of them were buying records. The other two went just to hang out. They bought Olivia Rodrigo and Ateez. The line went down past five stores that hooked a sharp right and formed another line to the door. RSD is still drawing more and more collectors every year. It is crazy. Thanks for sharing this one D~

Congrats on finding that Eric Carr box. I’m curious about that Pixies record w/Kim. And the Replacements probably just to have it.
The Pixies was kind of an impulse buy. Haven’t spun it yet. Definitely would not have bought it if Kim wasn’t on it.
That Eric Carr box looks crazy and for a good price. I want to get that Pixies live album and probably the Replacements too but I'm gonna wait to see if the prices go down a bit. I spent way too much yesterday lol.

No Bare Jr. ? I did 4 stores. Thankfully they stagger store opening in the TC so I was able to get that Bare Jr record. 1500 pressed, not many copies per store
Got the Mats too but it’s obligatory being in/from the TC/MN

I actually have the Bare Jr on CD, but I didn’t even see it on rsd. I passed on the Lizzy because there are so many TL live recordings out there already.

Record Store Day. Overpriced, over hyped, and totally uninteresting. A couple of gimmicks to reel in the buyers on the line, and that's it. Eric Carr had 5 unreleased demos on that Lp? Oh hold me back....
