Cherry & Cheese Danish Pastry Recipe

  • No need to spend hours in the kitchen for these easy and delicious Cherry and Cheese Danish pastry recipe!
    Ingredients:
    1 pack (2) Puff Pastry Sheets
    1 cup pie filling cherries
    1-8oz Cream Cheese (room temperature)
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    Preheat oven to 375 F. With your hand mixer, cream your room temperature cream cheese in a medium bowl, add sugar and vanilla, and keep mixing until smooth and set aside. Roll the first puff pastry sheet and cut 9 squares. You can use the squares as is or shape them into stars. You will add 1 teaspoon of cream cheese to the center. Egg wash them and bake for 10-12 minutes.
    Nest danish- you will roll your puff pastry and sprinkle about 2 tablespoons on it. Lightly roll your roller for sugar to stick. Cut 6 strips, twisting each strip like a rope. Shape them like a nest. Egg wash them. Add a teaspoon of cream cheese and a teaspoon of cherries on top. About 3 cherries. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Once out and cooled, brush them with apricot jam. Good for 3 days if they last!
