I work for Costco and I have worked in returns you would not believe some of the stories and the things people return you would die laughing!😘😘😘
I worked at Home Depot and someone that was working at returns (not me) gave someone their money back for a lantern ina box, manager opens the box after transaction ends up being afew 2x4s. We set it as reminder to look at everything that’s returned

I’m a cashier right now and if someone says they were another price but coming up a higher price, I flash my light and ask whoever comes if they can check before I put the item to the price they say it was...sometimes you have to because they don’t look at the tags and think the price is another but that’s for another item...I can understand if it’s a clearance item because the system might not know it’s a marked down item by the original scan code...hence the new scan codes on mostly bakery items...anyway, I ask someone to check if it’s the price they say it is if it’s a major difference..
Someone did that with a microwave. Sticky taped another barcode to box, some item that scanned super cheap.

I use to work for Wal-Mart and yes, this happens all the time. Once a guy brought back a tent full of leaves and water and said it came like that and thay took it back and gave him full credit.

No joke, worked in the Bakery, custom make sheet cake - very fussy customer - they ate the entire cake! Brought back crumbs and said it was terrible, we had to refund the full amount !!

When I worked in the shoe dept at Wal-Mart people used to just put their old shoes in the new shoe box, put it back in the shelf and wear the new shoes out of the store. The shoe dept and shoe boxes was the top area for people stashing packaging for shoplifted merch, especially cosmetics and jewelry!

.. I worked for Kmart... they had returned a brand of jeans we didn't carry... a sewing mechine was returned with bricks in it instead of yhe sewing mechine... no one looked inside

I used to work for Wal-Mart, and the craziest thing I heard was somebody returning a big screen tv, they got their money back, but inside the box was just a giant rock! The employee never checked inside the box and they got in trouble for it

I work for a walmart, and i remember this guy brought back a blender he had got for his wife for Christmas, apparently some else had returned it before and filled the box with ROCKS! And resealed it so perfectly no one thought to check it when it was brought back!

I use to work for Wal-Mart was a manager. I had used underwear returned back. One person tried to return a t-shirt a year later with holes in it. An other person return a 5 year old vacuum and of course we took all these items back. People come up with crazy stories why they need to return old items.

places will take anything for a return. my father had a random 2x4 he had laying around. he wanted to return it without a receipt. he was sure he got it from Home Depot. i was thinking the whole time "theres no way they will take it" and they took it. they gave him a refund for the 2x4. i was surprised they took it

I worked at Walmart for 4 years, ... Here's what I witnessed being returned.... A set of used headlights in the box resealed... An empty spray paint can from Kmart.. the lady said it quit spraying!... A box fan the customer said " it blew warm air" lmao
