I LITERALLY HAD THIS PROBLEM EARLIER OMG BLESS
Thanks for your blessing :)
The first video I found was someone showing how to do this but he used the more complicated method of using the blend tool. I knew there had to be another way. Your way is much more simpler and straightforward. Props to you!
Thank you for kind appreciation :)
Thank you very much. As an extra if you want to convert it to a shape, you just have to expand it (Obeject / Expand Apperance) and Illustrator will automatically convert it into a mesh.
Yup! You're most welcome Oscar!
You are a Genius, God Bless. To do this people confuse with Gradient Mesh.😇👏👏👏
Thanks alot
Just ran into this problem and this was it! Thank you!

I'm having this problem using the brush tool. It works with path, but not with the brush. Thank you anyway!
can you make a tutorial of how this would work in photoshop?
Did you managed to do it in Photoshop?
THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!
YOU'RE MOST WELCOME!!! :)
Thank you sir!!!
lifesaver! Thank you!!
Does anyone know why it does this? I encountered this problem trying to get a smooth transition along the edge of an object, and it makes no sense to me that applying a gradient across the stroke (the rightmost option) and aligning the stroke to the outside is somehow mutually exclusive
Thanks, brother💖💖
This was helpful to me. Thanks
beautiful music
is there a way to transfer this to After efects efficiently_ I had no luck so far. Thanks for this!

Thanks.
didnt work for me the stroke was greyed out
Hello! i have my stroke aligned to center but still cannot change the gradient direction... :(
In "Appearance" panel, select "Stroke" instead of "Fill". Answer is late, but it can be useful for someone else :)
@@remisghedoni6385 also note that it has to be a basic brush or it wont work, ive been at it for an hour until i got that
didnt work. all the stroke gradients were inactive
it didn't work for me((
you have make a solution for closed path. but how to do the same is case of open path like paint brush for curved "s"?
please check this: "imgur.com/a/hWjDXNi"
But that's what I've shown in the video. You could see in the thumbnail too. That's already an open path.
not so good
Adobe should fix that. Or just don’t offer the inner/outer stroke options, which are pointless.
Thanks alot
