- In this video I take you through the problem I ran into on my latest guitar project using a Triton router and how to sort it. I needed to use metric guide bushes with a template I had, Triton only make imperial guide bushed so I sorted the problem with a Trend Uni base.

John, I know this is an ancient video of yours but I just got this exact router and plate (to use with 10 Minute Workshop's new jig) and I couldn't have figured it out without your clear tutorial. Thank you!
As a person looking to get a 30mm bushing for a Triton router - this is gold. Thank you
Your video saved my bacon! I've had the Trend Unibase for 10 years but had forgotten how to use it when I really needed it. Your video thankfully refreshed my memory just in time. Cheers for taking the time to post it 😀
You're very welcome!
John. I'm doing the EXACT same thing. Routing for a Granger Ferrule Block with a Triton Router. I was just about to buy the Triton Guide Bushing Pack until I thought I'd Google to see if there was a cheaper solution. I'm so glad I did. You've saved me a load of time, money and frustration.
Nice!
Thanks a MILLION for that, Mate. Trying to find a simple 30mm guide bush for my recently-purchased TritonTRA001 was driving me bonkers. And I bet I'm not the only one !!!
Glad it helped
Well done John just bought one of those routers and that solution will be useful You sound like a man that likes the blaa
You've saved me a bit of time with a few videos now
Glad to help
Awesome! I was thinking of machining my own metric ones, this is a better solution! Thanks man!
You are welcome
Needed that - thanks
thanks for this solution, you've saved me a load of money
Glad to help
Woohoo - Finally a metric solution!
And even better Trend now have a base for the MOF001 which I even found in Australia :-) www.jpmtools.com.au/index.php?route=product/product&path=291_292_576_658&product_id=8991
I bought Makita bushes, took them to a turner who got rid of the excess, 2 minutes job.
Thanks for this. I also don’t want to pay the price for the Triton ones. Better solution for metric sizes.
Metric guide bushes for a Triton router sorted with the Tend Uni-Base
Trend actually make a specific sub base for (some ?) Tritons viz the Trend GB/5/Q Sub base for Triton Trb001 and MOF 001, note it does not list fitting of a TRA001 or JOF001, from the image of the sub base that only has 2 mounting holes to the router
It definitely does not fit the TRA001 although it is advertised to in some places
Comes with 4 holes which are in the wrong places
I drilled out 4 holes and countersinks in it to be able to use it
Ta. Very useful.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi could You confirm is that triton tr001? I am checking on trend site and it says that this plate is not compatible with triton tr001. My plate is different then Yours. Regards
its the 1400w mof001 dual mode plunge router.
Tried that and mine wouldnt fit so i decided to carefully drill two holes and mount it.
strange should have been two holes that lined up, as long as you got it to work that's what matters
I have a Triton TRA001 . Please Can anyone verify if this base will fit my Router , or can it be modified to fit ? . Thank you. Has anyone tried it on their TRA001?.
Your example of an 18mm bush and a 10mm bit produces 4mm border. 18mm outside diameter minus 10mm bit divided by 2 = 4mm. The template needs to be 4mm larger all round. Using imperial sized bushes is not really a problem. Digital calipers should be in every workshop. Trend has a PDF on their site with all information required.
Yep.that looks a better solution. Got yer head screwed on man
