Guess it didn't take long for people to start doing a human only "pal" run hahaha. Interesting to see that it works well in your game, I captured a gunner and merchant in one of my games and they both bugged out, could barely see the NPC model, it was 90% transparent.
It is true that they're pretty much useless. They sometimes help you build but usually they just get stuck in the geometry. They don't even shoot their guns after you catch them. Meele only.
@@loudquitting the reason your crossbow guy did so much damage is because their punch scales off their in hand weapons single shot damage. There’s a guy called the syndicate elite with a rocket launcher and he punches like saitama from one punch man. He can 3 shot the grizzbolt boss

Butchering with the Meat Cleaver needs to provide WAY more materials since you're better off melting them down into goo to upgrade a superior Pal, or just selling them to buy 4,000,000 High Quality Pal Oil from the NW desert vendor.
I think they just added it for the memes/shock factor tbh. Its kinda usless

Also you can only butcher pals in your party? But you don’t get any resources if you butcher them in your base?? What’s the logic here
@@smallfryskilledge1550You do get resources. I think it might get bugged depending on the height of your ceiling or how fast you try to butcher again.

Hopefully human-catching is fleshed out in future - I assume it exists currently because their system considers everything living a 'pal' internally and the devs decided that the 'bug' of human-catching was funny enough to keep in, but not funny enough to delay release to make properly functional when they already had the _actual_ Pals done.

Nope you could capture and enslave humans in Craftopia too, it's a feature. But I do hope they let the slave humans use their guns at least.
When you teach them skills, it breaks their ai when in combat
Hopefully they make it so you can catch other players
a full human playthrough is totally possible but requires a much more.... hands on approach. it is possible to aquire firearms very early on by purchasing from specific merchants (on the topic of merchants if you catch them you can still purchas from their supply and every time you deploy their stock of items refreshes.)
It is? Nice. How exactly do you make them shoot the firearms as they clearly still have guns on them but refuse to shoot in favor of meele.
@@loudquitting sadly you can't actually make the human pals shoot their guns yet (praying for a future update.) But you the player however can use all the firepower possible. I've seen atleast 1 merchant that sells a makeshift handgun with the associated ammo as well.
Also high tier weapon and armor blueprints can be gained from chests and rarely from human enemies.
I aquired a rare handgun blueprint from a chest while I was lv 15 giving me acess to a high tier gun dozens of levels higher on the tech tree.

I honestly panicked when I had the idea because I knew someone else would try to do it ASAP. I think I published the video roughly one day before another much more relevant youtuber (NerdCubed) published his version. It was like an arms race but with slavery.

Don't mess with Thicc Thighvester the Human Catcher! It's one thing for an entire camp of bandits to fall victim to individual setups of rope and boulder snare traps, but watching them forget (from shock) that they were palming a grenade while doing it, priceless! This was a pretty creative and entertaining video!

@@egbert5871I'm using a mod that gives them some more skills since they're useless for combat. Might as well make them lvl 4 workers for crafting and whatnot.
I do wish the mod had a bit more granularity in skill level options rather than just giving them 4 skill in everything they have animations for...
Lol the mod basically gave them 4 in everything except for logging, mining, kindling, chilling, and power production.
But yeah it would probably be more balanced if they had a randomized distribution of 4, 3, & 2 among their stats. IE each individual human perhaps having different levels of talent / aptitude for things.
Modding how is still it's early days so I imagine that in the months to come if the devs don't solve the situation eventually more mods will come out addressing things.
Idk I think they should keep the low skill but just do their weapon damage. Maybe make traders have a handi 2 skill but I don't think they should be made op just not completely worthless

You know, if you count the tower boss catch glitch as humans, you could probably defeat each tower boss with a caught previous one. They keep their monstrous hp stat and regenerate it faster than they can lose it more often than not.

The basic Punch skill all the humans have is awful, but weirdly you can use the various skill fruits in the game to teach them Pal moves.
They still aren't good, but they're better with more options than just that punch.
But even then you'd hit a wall where progression is impractical because you can't operate a furnace for ingots without a Kindling Pal, but maybe beating Zoe would be doable if your humans had poison or burning skills.
The devs don't understand us, man. I was planning to build a retail empire with my humans. Piss bottles and everything
they really need to give humans skills other than level 1 handiwork. it doesnt even make sense

They should make human pals able to use crafted weapon or let them use the weapon they holding before catching them
@@yaseiKen that would get OP with the rocket launcher guys, the minigun guys, and eventually (around level 40 in the snow area) the laser gun guys. So i can see why they can't use the weapons, especially since that would imply unlimited ammo for them as well, and unlimited rockets would be broken. Maybe they could make it so the active ability (like lamball shield for example) could let them use their gun and then have a cooldown, that would balance it a bit.
Finally a game that answer what would happen if in Pokemon you could use humans as the Pokémon’s and they would be normal type XD 😆

There exist level 50 human NPCs with high grade weapons in the world. This run might actually be possible.
When they fight for you they don't use their weapons😢 They just jump attack
Yeah, despite all the effort he put into capturing 'powerful humans', I don't think there's actually any statistical difference between one human pal and another, aside from level, which I assume you just have to raise through killing mobs with them.
But maybe some of the bulkier ones have more HP?
