0 to 60 supposed to be under 3 seconds I doubt it when Motor Trend and all the people on CZcams on the streets test drive it it's not going to be under 3 seconds however I'm sure I'll be pretty quick I estimate around 3.4 to 3.6 range quarter of a mile I guess around around 11. 6
From what I understand the gearing of the transmission is how they got it under 3 seconds ( with the z51 package as well) if you compare it to the gt500 which is @ 3.4 will catch it before 100mph. Completely believable
@@OddlySatisfying74 It's not the gearing, it's the weight distribution. Cars are currently traction limited when we're talking about 0-60. The quickest production cars out right now are either AWD, or have the engine in the back. The GT500 will catch most things on the top by virtue of having a shitload of power.
Richard Cerritelli Apparently it went 2.8 in 0-60 and 11.1 in the 1/4 mile @ 128mph in Motor Trendâs review. So it actually went a 1/10th faster than Chevroletâs claimed 2.9 sec. That is just insane. I do think the better time has less to do with being mid-engine and more to do with the dual clutch tranny but both aspects certainly contributed. For comparison the Z51 C7 managed 3.7 secs 0-60 and the C7 ZR-1 leapt from 0-60 in 3.0 so overall pretty impressive stuff from the base model with the sport package C8. I shudder to think what the C8 Z06 and ZR-1 will be capable of. Especially since both cars will likely feature a different engine. Probably this monsters 5.5L flat plane madness. If the ZR-1 can produce something in the 800hp range that car will be stupid fast (at least in a straight line). I do hope some of the concern from Motor Trend and other reviews about the noticeable understeer can be corrected as GM becomes more familiar with the C8 platform. Also I really hope GM takes the plunge and commits to a full sharpening of the interior trim of the higher priced models. Those two aspects need some attention if hey they really want to be in the same conversation with Ferrari and Lamborghini. They donât need to stuff it with $50,000 worth of leather and carbon fiber but it does need a step up.
Bryan Trilk lmfao. You saying Iâm not a gear head because my opinion is hilarious. You have no clue what I have had, have built, or have now. This is American muscle. Not a exotic. At least thatâs what a corvette was. If I want an exotic thatâs what Iâll buy. Not an American car trying to be an exotic. Ends of the day itâs my opinion just like you stated yours. You want to buy one itâs your money do what makes you happy. But to say something about me which you have no clue of is just silly.
yes it is, a high and quick revving one. probably a doch flat plane crank unit, with a capacity of at last 5.5 liters, which is insane for an engine with that architecture.
Lmfao the guy in the pink jumped when the car started
Sumbitch sounds Wicked. đȘđŸđŻ
Brave cameraman RESPECT!

In my opinion gm has ruined the corvette. Starting with adding rear quarter windows on the c7 to this now. Next you will see the c9 will be awd. Smh.

I'm with Captain Frank....it sounds stupid. Crossplane crank muscle sounds better. But I understand times changing.
@@mays316 to each his own, i like flat plane better and many people do. GM knows more and more people want flat plane v8s in high performance cars
