    • @retroguy9494
      @retroguy9494 Před rokem

      You really need to read up on Gable. He was NO gentleman. It was all smoke and mirrors. Among his worst things, he was married 5 times. His first wife was much older than him and had money and he used her for, among other things, costly dental work so he could get into the movies. He then divorced her. He was an adulterer who cheated on his wives. In fact, he was cheating on his second wife with who would become his third wife! He also date raped Loretta Young and got her pregnant. Young, a very devout Catholic and proper lady hid the pregnancy for fear the studio would make her get an abortion. She had the child but put her in an orphanage for a year and a half before taking her back telling people she had adopted her. Gable KNEW he had a daughter but only saw her once in his lifetime, when she was a teenager. These are hardly the behaviors of a gentleman!

      @@katesleuth1156 Oh I think 80's fashion was AWESOME! Especially for a guy like me who's interest in fashion goes backwards and is more traditional. Having come of age in the '80's I was SO happy that those awful leisure suits and neckties as wide as a guys chest and those hugely wide collars and lapels and polyester clothes were replaced. Double breasted and three piece suits came back into fashion with better width neckties. More traditional patterns too and the suits were made of wool or cotton. Poplin suits made a comeback for summer. And casual wear saw a return of cotton twill pants, especially among the preppies. Plus it was also the last great bow before the '90's when men started dressing like they just stepped off a garbage truck and called it 'casual.'
      I liked women's fashion too. All those nifty colors and those wide shoulder pads. I think the fashion was classy. The only thing I really didn't care for was women's hairstyles. Too much hair! LOL

    Gregory Peck was an incredible actor. I just finished reading a book about Peck and it was an informative read. He was one of my favorite actors. It is most unfortunate that we don't have the class of actors now that we had during Peck's era. Peck was so serious about each of his acting roles. It was his dedication and unwavering desire to be the best actor he could be. R.I.P. Gregory Peck

    Gregory Peck played the controversial General McCarthur in a television miniseries a few years after this interview. The whole miniseries was so outstanding portraying the genius of General McCarthur and his many flaws. It also closely followed historical facts too. I read thick military history books about the Pacific in WW2 and Korea so I have studied the real General McCarthur in great detail. Gregory Peck performance brought history to life. Gregory Peck was a truly outstanding actor. The average actor can't do the roles he brought to life in the manner he has done them but only the great ones can.
