Hello all and welcome to this speed test comparison between the Samsung Galaxy S23 and Pixel 7A in this episode we will compare both phones by putting them through a variety of tests to help you see which one is actually faster. Galaxy S23 features a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2, 8GB of ram, and One UI 5.1 The Pixel 7A features a Tensor G2 5nm processor, 8GB of ram, and also comes with Android 13. I will talk to you about Samsung phones, which I have come to hate. They have become the worst phones in the world. Their batteries swell, their charging is heavy, and they usually do not respond😡😡😡😡😡😡
I got the s23 and 13 mini. The 13 mini is the best and real compact phone. The s23 is awesome too.

For me, Google phones have been my first choice. They have better Image processing compared to all competators, which makes final result look more realistic. But the real reason why i prefer Google phones are the small little helpful tricks it brings on plate which makes life easier i.e., texting back on call ( assistant reads texts to them ) and more.
Both great phones 7A has the better cameras and S23 has the better screen, battery and performance but costs nearly double the price. Great speed comparison as always Nick.

I did the Wild life extreme test with my Pixel 6a and the overall score was 1807 and an average frame rate (fps) of 10.80. So better than the 7A? I expected otherwise

What's the SOT you're getting on your device, I'm getting only 3hr with dual sim + wifi. I don't even play game what's wrong with my device?
@@Yocazeba I always access internet through mobile data (4G) but still I get an average of 6hrs SOT. I never keep the mobile data always on. I use it only when I need. Still I use the mobile data on an average of 3.5 to 4 hrs daily. I have single sim only. Dual sim may drain battery fast especially if the signals are weak. Using 5G also result in battery drain.
@@SPAN25 While in office I use mobile data 5g and in home I use wifi. I think battery getting drained too fast cause I installed many apps and my 2nd sim is on low network coverage

0:49 you said they were using the same exact RAM but that's an incorrect info. The Pixel 7a has 8GB LPDDR5 RAM while the Galaxy S23 has 8GB LPDDR5X RAM. Although it's not that big of a difference, the LPDDR5X is able to clock at higher speeds. So technically still a faster RAM... I guess?

I loved the pixel 7a but it got very very hot and would drop signal a lot. This could have been fixed with an update since I had my pixel. If I didn't have the heating and signal problem I definitely would have stayed with the 7a.

What version S23 is used in this case?
8/256 version has UFS 4.0 and LPDDR5X that supposedly might be faster. That is the unit I've chosen for myself at least.
When 8/128 uses UFS 3.1 and LPDDR5.

Yes, they did it in 8/128 version.
But for most I guess it won't be noticeable.
I've seen this information in multiple sources. But some still say the same LPDDR5X.

So why do you compare a flagship to a non-flagship? The Pixel is a fantastic device for half the money of the S23.
Because 7a chipset is the same as its flagship variant pro version.

Honestly it’s annoying. And terrible. I returned the pixel 7a. I’m looking at the galaxy but it’s too expensive in my country. It’s like almost half the price of the 7a can’t afford it right now. The slow charging of pixel annoys TF outta me. Idk why these reviewers don’t mention it

Why is the Pixel, a near pure OS struggling so much with apps reloading? Both devices have 8GB, you'd expect them to be close to the same. Does one have more compressed zRAM? Another video that shows 8GB isn't enough really unless you don't mind waiting for reloads and losing where you are / typed... They only slow down with time as well and with more demanding apps increasing RAM requirements all the time.
Do you keep 2 games and 10 apps open in your background at all times?
@@theseyan Everyone should keep apps open in the background. You are not meant to close apps in Android. But yes, I'd use around 8-10 apps in a day. Nah I'm not a gamer on mobiles.

I'm kinda surprised by the fact that the 7a has 8GB RAM and couldn't even hold that many apps... But I think, it's still worth getting if they have it on sale with $100 off.

Exactly, why don't people notice this more? For me it clearly makes or breaks a phone, which is another reason why I'm avoiding 8GB and less phones. It shouldn't be reloading apps used that recently especially if the Samsung can do it with 8GB of RAM. My only guess is that they use different zRAM (compressed RAM) or Google is killing the apps for power saving, which makes no sense as they use a lot more relaunching, yet alone the data loss and delay.
Both use ML to control RAM management. I bypass that by tweaking apps I want to remain in memory, and generally, with time they learn my usage and stop the jetsam of daily apps. For most users, 8GB should be enough, but if like me, you cycle through 20 apps a day, then 12GB is now the base requirement. My RAM usage is between 9-10GB with those 20 apps.
