- People are excited about Keeneland's Fall Meet on Friday but there's another major horse racing event happening this weekend in Lexington.
The Grand Circuit at the Red Mile is considered the "big leagues" of harness racing. And this weekend, you have a chance to see the best of the best and maybe watch history in the making. LEX 18's Nancy Cox reports.
I miss The Red Mile. No harness racing anywhere near Houston
The Grand Circuit and Dan Patch will be forever attached in sports history.......and -- Dan Patch is the Secretariat of Standardbred racing.
If it's a warm day he has a shot. He's managed right but how many of those big miles can 1 horse have?
At the Red Mile both Bulldog Hanover and Always B Miki hit the half on top in 52:2…Bulldog Hanover paced the last half mile in 54 seconds Always B Miki paced the last half in 53:3…Always B Miki beats Bulldog Hanover at the Red Mile
I have seen quite a few Standardbreds would take your finger off. Jaded is not respecful
Life expectancy of the average horse- 20-25 years. Life expectancy of a race horse - 6 years. Enough said.
I would like to challenge your numbers.I think you should factor check before making such a ridiculous statement.
B.S. You don't know what you are talking about. Standardbreds race until 14. I know 3 personally over 20.
Do you believe that statement?
@@shanefaulkner8586 It's not a belief. The average age of the horses is well established. The life expectancy of a race horse is abysmal.
@@jamescusack2355 i groom a 9 year old still racing and is sound as the day he was born. I'm learning to train for a guy who has a one 19.
