- The title says it all! Im going to take a 1970 C10 pickup truck and turn it into a badass drag truck powered by a 1000+ HP Duramax engine.

Now this is the type of builds I like seeing on CZcams! Modern drivetrain with an old school look. I’m currently in the process of body swapping my 1972 GMC C20 cab, bed, fenders, hood, etc...onto a ‘03 2500hd 4x4 6.0L chassis. Can’t wait to see the drag truck once it’s done, cheers! 🍻

Drop spindles are a good way to get it low without messing with suspension geometry. Sick build dude cant wait to see it running.
Looks like the FARMTRUCK! Sounds like a great project! Will be watching every step of the way! Had a 70 Chevy 4x4 custom cab in the late 70s. Unfortunately it ended up wrapped around a tree. Right behind the cab. It still ran, but had to take the bed off and relocate the gas tank. The bed was smashed to smithereens! Looked kind of funny with 36 inch tires and no bed.

I love the old school trucks. I was driving a mint 74 ford f-350 before a drunk driver put me in a wheelchair for life. So now I live theu guys like youeself building badass trucks and cars. When I was just watching your video my careworker was ajusting my junk when you yelled 'what are you doing in there'. She jumped back and started laughing. LOL. Timing could not have been any better. I'm a tuner at Motor Ops in Canada, and i've been following all y'alls videos (pfi, metigulous, boostedboiz, yourself) and i'm so happy too see a Duramax build-up with a C10 shell. Jason Wehrli (WCFAB) has an awesome one, same vintage as this truck, but its a Chev, and Nick from Duramax Tuner has the ApacheMAX which is another wicked truck. SUPER hyped too see this rig dial too life!!!!!

an idea: always have a stationary time lapse going... from above normal sight lines... screw tunes... brent's use of dyno pulls during time lapse bits is genius... this way you got footage of all of the build
Easy tunnel build. Use a old wheel Barrow tub. Use all the bends the widen and extend. Easy and will look factory
So awesome man. I did a similar frame swap on my 1970 c10. I used a 2004 Cadillac Escalade awd frame swapped on the c10 body
I am a new subscriber to the channel because of this build. The duramax is the baddest diesel in my opinion and this truck is gonna be sick. I just restored a 88 Chevy crew cab dually. I did a Duramax swap with callies crank, carrillo rods, diamond pistons, borg turbo, cam, port work, and billet SDP trans. I built it for show, go, durability and pulling my 53' gooseneck with 88 Monte SS drag car around the country. I did a white with blue pearl to match the Monte.

This is a really bad ass project. It's so cool that the 70 C10 has been in your family since new. I've been dreaming of a 67-72 Suburban on a GMT 800 chassis for a couple years now. Cant wait for the next video.

You could modify a hood, give it a raised channel to make room for the turbo? Unless you're going for the super-stock look? Oh shit, you just answered my question, in the video haha

What would be sick is cut a slot for the top turbo so when you close the hood it sticks through a little bit
You can always add a calendar and Hood to the top of it it look good on that truck anyway if you needed more clearance 2in and 4in that would still look good . And turn it around the opposite direction face in the front of the truck instead of the windshield like everybody else plus you'll get more airflow like a shaker hood

I’ve seen a few where they put the Duramax interior in and some where they keep the original interior. I think original is they way to go. Can’t wait to see more progress!

You might end up having to tube the front end, thatd help get your radiator an everything where it needs to be, but I think itll be sick once you get the frame shortened an boxed in. Love old 70s trucks, im doing the same now, building a 77 f100 drag truck, but mines going to be a 8.2 deck an not a diesel lol

I'm 14 and restoring my grandpas 1969 Chevy C10 that sat in our barn for 34yrs and I've swapped in a small block 400 and a Muncie M-22 4 speed manual. Still doesn't run and drive but I'm close. I wanted to duramax swap mine but I just dont have the money
