Wow. I adore bodice ripper covers like this. Where the main cover is simple but the interior has a beautiful illustration. I didnt know Bridgerton books were bodice rippers.
Same here, I love historical romances with stepbacks and clinch covers! These are the original printings and they started publishing 20ish years ago 💖
Dearest Readers, we are soooo madly in love! 💚
👏👏👏
1. Colin 2. Francesca 3. Eloise 4 Anthony 5. Benedict 6 Daphné 7 Hyazinthe 8. Gregory
1. Gregory 2. Anthony 3. Colin 4. Francesca 5.Eloise 6. Daphne 7. Benedict 8. Hyancith
I love Francesca’s story the best as well!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Such a good one! 👏👏
I totally agree with your ranking for your first two! Fran and Anthony’s books are the best ❤❤❤
And the third one too! Hyacinth’s book was so fun 😂
Ahhh yay, that top 3 is everything! ❤️👏👏👏 great choices! lol
So interesting how most people have ranked Daphne story so low! How come? Just curious 😅
I’m not a fan of her character and some of the ways she forces the hero into things (including ensuring she ends up pregnant), he isn’t completely honest with her either but the way they didn’t communicate was just not it for me.
With this 3rd season i love it but i feel like they are kinda rushing or well more cramming mutiple of the stories into one with obviously colin and pen as the center but also francesca & john and benedict & sophie
Completely agree! I have a video on my channel of all my thoughts on S3 so far
yeah
honestly, after the first season, I decided I didn't want to wait for all seasons and I would just read the books instead.
I read:
the duke and I
the viscount who loved me
an offer from a gentleman
romancing mister brigerton
to sir Phillip with love
and I started with when he was wicked
and I stopped reading them, because I just had enough.
They were bad and with each book I read it got worse. In each book it was basically the same thing, they meet, first don't really like each other, then gradually get closer, deny their feelings until they can't anymore and kiss or something and then they marry and that's it.
Each story was the same overall, plus there was misogyny from literally every single male character in the books and even the women were misogynistic.
I hate that Penelope had to lose weight in the book to finally be considered a bit more beautiful.
Although I love the character of Eloise in the show, where she doesn't want to just do whatever society tells her to and do something with herself. But in the book to sir Phillip with love, basically what happens is that she gets to know this man through letters, goes off to meet him and his 2 children and guess what, she ends up being his wife, taking care of his 2 children and doing not a single thing of what she wanted before. Not the tiniest bit of self-actualisation of eloise.
With each book I hoped it would get better, or that the story might be a little different at some point, but no...
So I gave up on these books in the middle of when he was wicked. They are not good. Not one of them, and I don't recommend reading them.
The show has made quite a few adaptations and changed a lot, from characters to conversations to the events that happens, so if you enjoy the show, then watch the show as I also think it's overall a good show, but definitely do not read the books! They are dog shit...
The show did make many changes to the books, as most adaptations do. The first book was published over 20 years ago at this point. I have the same thoughts on Eloise’s book and was not a fan. This series is by no means a favorite in the historical romance genre for me personally.
The think the books are so different that you'll still get surprised.
How can I get the book
Or read them online
All books have ebooks and audiobooks as well if you don’t buy physical copies. If you have audible plus the audios are all available to grab and listen. If you have kindle unlimited, the first 3 are available to grab there. They are also on library resources as well (Libby, hoopla).
It's in his kiss is my #1 ❤
Love that one!
Hyacinth, Anthony, Francesca, Colin, Gregory, Benedict, Daphne... and Eloise
Francesca should be #2, but i started with Anthony's book lightyears ago so he gets brownie points for that alone 😅
Love your top 3 as well! 👏
Colin, Francesca, Anthony, Hyacinth, Eloise, Benedict, Gregory, Daphne
1hyacinth 2 Francesca 3 Colin 4 Gregory 5 Eloise 6 Antony 7 daphne
8 Benedict
Love Francesca so much too
putting gregory last is something i was not expecting
Love the step backs!
They’re the prettiest! ✨
I don’t know why but when i saw season 1 i was so in love with the couple but after rewatching it I HATED IT ! I felt like it was a forced love she tricked him to get married and tricked him to have children even though he was so honest about his boundaries and his life choices ! Daphne was a red flag
Yuuuup the book version was even worse when dealing with that situation. Not a fan of Daphne.
She was defo a red flag but so was he cuz he lied saying he can’t have kids. Something like having kids should’ve been discussed way before marriage. They are both red flags.
@lilylimbu5164 absolutely, they both had things they should have discussed
@@lilylimbu5164 for me he didn’t know she was that clueless about how babies are made , he thought she had the talk with her mother ! The dude was ready to die just to not marry her that for me is enough to get away, she was no different than his father in that matter … i am not saying he s a saint cause he is a red flag but not as much as her she blamed everyone around her and didnt understand him at all cause she was privileged to have perfect parents
I mean i really wanted him to keep his vow or at least for the writers to make them have only girls that would ve been so good cause they ll be satisfied both and no promises will be broken
1. Eloise 2. Anthony 3. Francesca 4. Colin 5. Hyacinth 6. Daphne 7. Benedict 8. Gregory
Yesss for Anthony and Francesca in the top 3 and Gregory last 😅
Those covers are gorgeous
Love the original covers and stepbacks so much
When he was wicked is the best one of the series 🔥the shack in the woods during the storm ❤️🔥
Absolutely top tier! Love that book so much 👏
Where did you get these covers from? 😍
I’ve had them for years! These are the first printings of the books, used bookstores are a good place to look
I just read Colin and Hyacinth and…. I loved Hyacinth chemistry with Gareth. I always find her very funny and cunning and Gareth is very good at keeping her on her toes. I, however, despised his scheming into ruining her. I had a hard time considering it romantic or passionate because of the clear will of Gareth to entrap her. I mean… the fact that he anticipated it was quite bad :/ (even if I loved his honest reactions outside of it : Hycatinth in breeches, the whole being thieves and exploring at night, … it was very funny). And Agatha was a sweetheart !
Hyacinth is a lot of fun!
So I was planning to read the books, but tbh I don't wanna read all of them 😅 Can I read them as stand -lone or does it need to be in order? Also, watching the show and reading some bad reviews makes me not want to read all of them, so I would like some reccomendations on which ones are worth the read.
You can read them as standalones, but you’ll get a better appreciation for them if you read in order since you stick with the family for so long. I have ranked my favorites in the series in this video, so it goes from my favorites to least fav books
Honestly- do I need to read them in order? Or can I hop around and be ok?
You’ll get more out of the family dynamics and there is an overarching side plot about who Lady Whistledown is (it doesn’t get resolved until book 4, but if you’ve watched the show then they announced it in S1 lol). But if you don’t care about any of that, you can totally jump around and be fine!! 👏
I need these books
Ok I gotta read these
Hope you enjoy!
Anthony and Kate will be my number 1 until I read all the books
Completely get that, their book is top tier!
1.Colin 2.Benedict 3.Hyacinth 4.Francesca 5.Anthony 6.Daphne 7.Gregory 8.Eloise
My top 3 changes by my mood though.
👏👏
But Benedict is such a fan favorite in the show🥲
Show Benedict I enjoy so much more than the book version of him
i personally love Romancing Mr Bridgerton, and that's because of Penelope... moreso with the adaptation made thru Netflix...
I love Penelope as well in her book! It’s Colin I’m not a fan of really.
I am obsessed with Bridgerton s2 onwards, how are the books?
S1 is pretty accurate to the book, S2 is much different than the book (I prefer the book)!
My personal ranking is:
Eloise
Francesca
Benedict
Anthony
Hyacinth
Colin
Gregory
Daphne
Nice choices!! 👏
Thank you so much for being an awesome creator and not feeding into the racist fans who complain about the show being diverse or woke or historicaly inaccurate.
The more people who can see themselves represented in tv/movie/shows etc the better in my book. 👏👏👏
It’s not historical it’s pandering. That doesn’t make us racist.
now I'm looking forward for the other bridgerton seasons because Daphne's season was good and it's below your list!
Yessss me too, so many good ones to come! 👏
Does anyone know how long these books have been around I wonder if you can find them at Half Price Books??
The original books started publishing over 20 years ago now. Used bookstores is definitely the place to look if you want these original printings with the stepbacks.
@@christireadsalot thank you that's my first stop then Francesca and possibly Eloise because it seems like those two make the top three with most everyone. And I already know obviously how the first almost workout so I'm anxious particularly in Francesca and definitely Eloise because at first I thought they were going to take a turn with Eloise impossibly secretly open up and say she was perhaps either lesbian or bisexual but I hear that not the case you know I wonder who her best friend that girl was a long neck and her name starts with a C Cressida or something like that I wonder what happens to her however no one told me that okay
@@kamieaguilar9068the books are very different than the show has done with a lot of the characters you mentioned, so it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out in the adaptation.
Where did you get them
I collected them years ago. You might have luck at used bookstores, eBay or similar used sites
😍😍😍
❤️❤️
Colin, eloise, anthony, benedict, hyacinth, gregroy
francesca was TOO MUCH and daphne is borinng
You done Benedict dirty
😅 his book is simply not it for me, but I’m also not a fan of Cinderella retellings
So in the books, they're all white English people ,why in the series they most change that .
They diversified and modernized the cast for the adaptation
@christireadsalot i loved that ,but i feel like they diversified too much .Maybe they should have done it with simon and daphnee and other couples in the show, but not with almost all bridgerton children .Hopefully, they don't do it with the two youngest and eloise cause it will be so forced. They slayed it in season 1 and 2 with daphnee and anthony, but i think it's enough like that. Their intentions and idea was already well delivered
Wish they casted people based on the book characters. The show has lost its charm with the forced diversity 😭
I completely disagree
@@christireadsalotI like the diversity ☺️
if you want something based on original, just shut the fxxx up and watch National Geographic🥰
@@Kivlyn.07 at that time there was no slavery in britain, but I agree with your other parts
@@loverofteaandspice Sharing a correction that Great Britain was still an enslaver during the Regency Period (1811 to 1820). This is the era in which the Bridgerton book series spans. British parliament passed the Slavery Abolition Act in 1833. A literary and historical cross-reference would be Jane Austen's "Mansfield Park" that was published in 1814. Slavery was one of the topics discussed in that novel.
