  • Welcome to the 2nd coaching session with Edson Mangueira in the Glickenhaus Hypercar at the Bahrain International Circuit on rFactor 2. We are further helping Edson with Driving lines, driving techniques and improving consistency. Based on his first coaching, we will pick up from his progress and fine-tune his driving.
First session see here: • Simracing Academy - Co...

In a driving instructor lesson, you are testing with me (like here in the video) in order to improve your strengths and work on your weaknesses. Therefore, we are selecting the simulation to be used, the car to be driven and the track to be tested, all of your choice.
Please tell me the following things in order to think of a way of work:
    - experience in simracing with basic background information
    - simulation of choice
    - car of choice
    - track of choice
    - area-/s to be worked on (setup, driving lines, driving techniques, consistency)
    - availability of you in terms of finding a date
    Prizing includes:
    - Preparation
    - Server hosting costs
    - Costs for potential DLC
    - The Lesson itself
    - Full video of the session for you to watch it back
    Prizing:
    The lesson is charged 45,00 € / h
for setting up our session I charge 5,00 € for once as long as simulation/car/track keeps the same.
Payment needs to be done in advance - I hope you can understand.
If you are interested in having a session with me, please write me an e-mail to simracing@michi-hoyer.com or leave me a message on my facebook page

you would be better at coaching WRC guys, you drift every corner, the last thing that is needed in racing or simracing is drifting.

well its not about drifting in this video. Its about introducing a specific amount of slip angle. Yes that still means technically that the car is in a drift. However, the tyres are designed in a way that their peak grip is with a 3-5° slip angle in most of the turns. In Hairpins its even more beneficial to before the apex introduce more slip angle and flick it a little around the apex.
Arguably, you are not wrong with the drifing in classic road course racing cars. However, its faster on the clock to do it for sure on a single lap. If you can do it controlled an minimally, even in race situations it might be quicker overall, if you make sure the tyres do not overheat too much.
After all, the guy achieved his best season result overall. Coming from out from like P7 or P8 to finish P3 for this specific race.
Don't worry, I don't take your criticism personal, nor do I not accept it. Its valid up to a certain point. I hope you can understand my PoV here :) too

Hey Michi, thanks for the sessions! Happy to report we got our first podium in the venue! P3 after 8hrs, and also for the 1st time I was not the slowest member of the group 😂

Awesome mate! much much appreciating the feedback. Very glad to hear that you had a benefit from it! Hope you can carry that on to the next ones

Hi Michi, well I've seen there was going to be a GB Carrera Cup 2023 Season on rf2, if you happen to look for drivers to enter there under the Burst eSport team, I must admit this would be tempting... Though, in this case, maybe a first step could be such a session with you to assess if it's actually a reasonable potentiality... :) I think I have globally improved since the old days, but yeah you would tell me what you think about it.

      @MichiHoyer  Před rokem

Hey mate, since we don't enter the series I think, we would not be an option for you to team up sadly.
On the other side of things, I havcent seen you racing for some while, so sadly I cannot really comment on your current performances. But I would assume that you improved over the years, as we all keep getting better right :)

@@MichiHoyer Ok, no worries mate. Thing is, I actually learned quite a few more things since then (and sometimes I miss the competition... :), among other things by watching your vids ofc, but I think there's a specific point that I would still need to acquire and this is the following (essentially for the quali phase): once I reached let's say my best laptime driving close to the limit (+ having optimized corners exits in regard to following straights + my setup, etc...) and seeing that I'm still a couple of seconds from the pole position for ex. My question there is always about should I seek out optimizing yet again (but I usually kinda not finding where/what/how), or rather striving to drive the car a little bit above the limit while still handling it properly and not crashing). Watching you guys I usually get the feeling it's rather the second option, but then either I crash, either I'm doing worse laptimes... I would dare to guess it's quite typical, and one of the things that separate good drivers from great ones.

@@ScalinoCorleoneThanks for your question. I think the best you can do is study replays. See what we do, where we are going faster.
For example check apex speeds, apex angles of the car, what we do with the steering and the brakes.
I think at the end of the day you are getting a couple of small things wrong - level of attack, amount of slide, steering, brake and stuff like that.
so best to do is being in a session and check the replays.
