Kunsthal LIVE Masterclass: Joost Swarte - 3 October 2019

Kunsthal Rotterdam presenteert in samenwerking met de Willem de Kooning Academy een reeks masterclasses - exclusief voor studenten en Kunsthal Vrienden - door bijzondere kunstenaars. Na inspirerende masterclasses van onder andere fotograaf Peter Lindbergh, fotograaf en kunstenaar Erwin Olaf, choreograaf Conny Janssen, architect Rem Koolhaas, fashion artists Viktor&Rolf en kunstenaar en innovator Daan Roosegaarde, was het op donderdag 3 oktober de beurt aan illustrator, ontwerper en architect Joost Swarte. Ter gelegenheid van de tentoonstelling ‘Joost Swarte overal’ geeft hij een masterclass in het Auditorium van de Kunsthal.
Tijdens de masterclass vertelt Joost Swarte over zijn werk, praktijk en inspiratiebronnen en gaat hij dieper in op de economische aspecten van het runnen van een atelier. Je krijgt een kijkje achter de schermen en inzicht in de keuzes die hem tot dit punt in zijn carrière hebben gebracht. De voertaal van de masterclass is Engels. Bekijk hier de gehele masterclass!

In collaboration with the Willem de Kooning Academy, the Kunsthal Rotterdam presents a series of masterclasses - exclusively for students and Kunsthal Friends - by exceptional artists. After the inspiring masterclasses by such figures as photographer Peter Lindbergh, photographer and artist Erwin Olaf, choreographer Conny Janssen, architect Rem Koolhaas, fashion artists Viktor&Rolf and artists and innovator Daan Roosegaarde, it was the turn of illustrator, designer and architect Joost Swarte. On the occasion of his exhibition ‘Joost Swarte everywhere’ he gave a masterclass on 3 October 2019 in the Kunsthal Auditorium.
In his masterclass, Joost Swarte talks about his work, practice and sources of inspiration as well as going more deeply into the economics of having a studio. A behind-the-scenes of his work and choices which took him to this point in his career. The official language of the masterclass is English. Dank voor het beschikbaar maken van de masterclass, erg interessant. Alleen jammer dat de slides die Joost Swarte toont in de lezing niet op groter formaat zijn gemonteerd in de video.
