OK that's it I'm taking this as your advice. The anti-Soviet Santa psa left me and my friends absolutely dying. It’s just such an abrupt tonal shift, we thought it would be some cute ad for food or something, but then the narrator mentioned the Soviets. That already threw us off and got a few giggles, but Santa getting nuked left all of us laughing for minutes on end. One of the most worthy 10s given in a while.

The thing is, no matter how much that anti-Soviet commercial tells you, they DID celebrate Christmas and had Santa. Except it was just called New Year's festivities and called Christmas trees "New Year's trees". Originally the trees were banned because they were viewed as a bourgeois German import until 1935 when Stalin brought the festivities back to boost popularity. Labeling them as New Year's rather than Christmas was meant to unify the children throughout the USSR, including the Central Asian ethnic groups who are not Christians. That's why if you look up online, you can hear the Red Army Choir singing Christmas songs like Jingle Bells.
And in Russia, Santa's called Ded Moroz. He is a Slavic Pagan character rather than a Christian one. He delivers gifts on January 1st unlike Santa

That Campbell's Snowman commercial is my favorite holiday commercial for clearly nostalgia reasons.
Ah yes, Nestlé trying to be hip with the kids with a flossing gingerbread man...as if we're supposed to forget all the dirty things their corporation has done. Yeah I remember seeing that Campbell's commercial all the time growing up. I always viewed it as simply wholesome, the kid is too cold, so he warms up inside thanks to Campbell's and feels better. Then I started thinking that it could also mean many other things. Like snowmen are really just humans. If a snowman melts, its inner human is revealed. Meaning if you build a snowman, you're building an actual human inside. And now that creeps me out.
All it ever did for me was want to try carrots in my chicken noodle soup...

15:49 the pureness is strong with this one. They basically took the cartoony drink spitting gag and used it out of context making it more funny than spitting out of surprise compared to just spitting because he wanted to.

Thanks for taking my suggestion for Channel 7 Santa Red scare. That Ad did have a Newspaper article where it says they received phone calls from upsetting a lot of kids. Also Richard Williams Animation (who produced it) has got a couple more ads that might have some spotlight for this particular show. Dm me if interested.

We did make a Christmas jingle for a country radio station, but that was never was made into a commercial for TV
6:39 the point of the commercial was that a they subverted expectations of what would normally happen in that situation which is the guy just drives off and ignores the dude he splashed, but instead he stops and gives him all his stuff which is supposed to be "refreshing" to see, just like how 7UP is "refreshing". The ad says if you thought that was refreshing, then try 7UP. It's so vague

Kinda find it crazy that Chadtronic didn't mention JerryTerry's remix of the hhhgregg commercial, since it is one of the more popular videos and even the composer for the Halloween version of chadtronic's theme.

Hear me out on this. What if the part about Chad watching commercials for eternity is real and he's in a time loop. What we're witnessing is the 2nd loop. What happened in the 1st loop? Chad aged so much and went crazy after so many years of curses that he forgot who he was and had to wear something in an effort to try and protect the little sense of self he had left. 5,000 years later and you've got Wraps, Chad from the 1st loop. That explains how they can be together at once without a paradox and why Wraps doesn't remember Chad when he arrives in the 2nd loop.
I like to imagine that Chad has this giant castle that he rarely ever uses, and the only reason why the bad luck curse hasn't broken was because he doesn't want the castle to go to waste.
For me, it's like one of the scenes in 1408 where whatever-his-name-is seemingly gets transported out of the hotel for a time, only to find himself back in the titular room. The castle basically transports him back into itself when it feels ready to torment him once again. That's all just headcanon, however.
