  • Stihl MS462 vs Husqvarna 572xp - Both Saws running Brand New Tsumura 28" Bars with Full Chisel / Full Skip Chain cut from the same roll.
    Both the 462cm and the 572xp have run 12 tanks of fuel through them since new.
    This video was just for fun as I enjoy running both saws. In a follow up video ill share my thoughts on running them.

    Picked up a new 572 on a black Friday sale for $850, came with a 24" bar, ordered a 28" and some skip tooth chain for it. A real pleasure to cut with. Keep thinking I should do some videos. Have a few vintage saws that folks might like to see.

      I bought 3 cans of their gas for $21 to get the extended warranty from 2 years..to FIVE, plus Husqvarna recognizes military, police, fire including retirees 10% discount so the same size saw was ALREADY a few hundred less (husky), and then I saved almost another $100 more! Bought a 572xp with a full comp and chisel 28". I needed it for white Oak, and all of the different hardwoods we have in S.E. New England. So far I Love it!

      @@sawsurgeon haha that's some funny shit there. I myself have a 362 and 395 as well. They are both amazing and have a definite purpose. I just recently about two months now purchased a 572 and it has now been my everyday saw. Yes it has a little more weight than the 461. But in my opinion it has a bit more of that dig in bar buried low end grunt. It also seems more comfortable less vibe and tingle finger at the end of the day. don't get me wrong both great saws. Although if you ask preference between 395 and 661 there is no comparison of rather use my 362 in big timber than pick up a 661. 395 hands down

    @michealbrown389 Před 3 lety +6

    Have both, the 462 is all noise in my opinion the 572 gets argued over when its time to cut. Reduced weight is always rewarding, but not at the sacrifice of power or longevity. Endurance of the machine is most important to me, can't be replacing/rebuilding 1000 plus dollar powerheads all the time

    • @brianstrange7942
      @brianstrange7942 Před 2 lety

      Sooo..I'm guessing you feel the husky stands the test of time better with use? Just curious. My first professional chainsaw is a 261 Husky that I bought 22 years ago! It's cut hundreds of cords of wood, and still kicks ass! Only thing I've ever done to it is replaced gas lines, fuel filter, spark plug.. that's it! Now I bought a 572xp, with a 28" and hope I have the same luck. I do love and respect stihl chainsaws as well, but haven't owned one long enough to know how they last in the long run. They do cut fast, and have a little more low end grunt when getting into harder stuff. Either way..both great saws!

    I discovered that the biggest issue with that unit was the tank vent not be able to keep up with fuel supply. After modding the tank vent, the saw no longer has any serious issues. For a real comparison, you need to use the exact same bar and chain on them. They both take the same bar.. Take the 25, run both. Take the 28, run both. Then if you wanna get crazy, buy a 32 or 36, and run them again. And that doesnt look like a skip chain, i think your saw experience is very low. Keep your hands on the handle bud. Plus make sure your using a good square ground full chizel chain, youll never round file a tooth again i swear by it.

      The first bar was a 25 with a brand new stihl standard chain just because it was on the saw - the 28’s were brand new bars with brand new archer chain cut from same roll and surely full skip. I have yet to try square ground. Thanks for the comment shane
