When I played Cold War, my first few games, I'd do really good, top of the leaderboard, lots of kills, little to no deaths, then SBMM would kick in, I'd do terrible, but not because the other players were better, oh no, every time, without fail, the entire enemy team would be head glitching, camping prone in corners, bushes, etc. Using the most OP guns while doing it. You can't do anything about it either, because they can immediately see you but you can't see them because of how the camera/player POV works, especially if they're in bushes or head glitching.

Not everyone puts in enough time to be good at a game. When people hop on, they wanna have fun against people that aren’t tiers above them in skill. Saying you hate SBMM cuz u can’t stomp noobs ain’t a good excuse. SBMM should be toned down so that you do get the good players and terrible players in your lobby, but the difference shouldn’t be huge.

look man, I've tried getting new people into shooter games. Some saying "Oh COD sounds cool, if I try anything, I wanna try that".
Next thing you know, their first 10 games they got nothing but pub-stomped by 70/1 players, and they couldn't get a single kill. They give up and never want to touch cod again. Not every game is gonna be that bad, but match make RNG isn't in everyones favor. Sometimes COD just flat out shuts down some new players, with bad pub stomp luck.
I was fortunate enough to come into COD without pub stompers every game. But not everyone is lucky enough to have that experience. Sadly theres no "Easy difficulty" for multiplayer, but the least we can do is match them against equally new players. So that everyone in the lobby has a shot at having some fun. Its never been about "protecting feelings" its about making sure the game is fun. But all I'm vibing off of birdman here is *Its ok to be bad at a game=its ok to not have any fun in a game* because the issue when we get to its core, is fun. Not skill. Skill just influences fun. Why should new players have to deal with a game thats RNG if their gonna get to have any fun or not?
It doesn't take fighting people x50 your skill level, to get better. You get better as you learn to play better than your enemies. As you play better, you'd get matched higher. And that cycles. I'd argue that playing similar skilled people, is easier for gaining skill. Because fighting someone x50 times your skill level is... Well not a fight at all. Your going to lose so hard, that you aren't given any opportunities to try things that work better, nor work on your aim. Because your dead before you can even join the fight to practice.

Bro Scump looked like he was in a reverse boosted lobby when he was playing against all the streamers. He was pub stomping Nick Mercs, Swagg, and a bunch of other big streamers. So that is simple proof that Scump wants SBMM out of the game not because he is afraid of getting destroyed but because he just wants to chill a little. He said he doesn't even want to play against the bottom 30% of players but he just doesn't want sweats all the time. Base COD by itself is not a competitive game but merely a fun arcade shooter. When you make it competitive, people exploit all the bs in the game which is why actual pro competitive rule sets GA half the stuff in the game to keep the environment competitive. I actually never thought of it that way even though I was against SBMM so Birdman made a good point. People like the pro smash player Leffen need to stay in their lane and stfu. They were more fun because the experience was varied and changed every time. If it's always hard then it becomes frustrating to play. If it's too easy, the other players get frustrated and we all get that. Thats why we're looking for something right in the middle, the middle has been found in the past with true random lobbies.
