I can count the number of times on one hand my the times I’ve seen him in person in the last 20 years. He got his championship but never show Portland any love once that happened. Congrats to to him. I think more people respect Dame more than he thinks, the fact that he could have sought a super team, but instead remained out of loyalty and competition decided to chase a championship as a bus driver opposed to hopping on someone elses. This speaks to his competitive nature, his leadership of not abandoning his guys and the commitment to being the best player in franchise history. Many players have rings, not too many guys are the 1st guy mentioned when talking who were the best players ever on ______ team.

It easy to be miss understood when you dance to your own music. Not seeking validation. Not giving people opinions power to determine your greatness. Knowing what important to you. Always realize you could not have been here. Some people are satisfied with their piece of the pie and never comparing to determine his value. If you clear your mind, you will realize the media can create any narrative they chose during your career and after. However, if you did it your way. You will be at peace and realize the NBA is like a marketing firm. They can build you up, say whose the greatest, tear you down, and extend your after basketball career. Some people have their own LANE.

Man when I watch this it’s a great interview and I’m a big Dame fan but also a big Evan Turner guy! One of the most underrated underused players of all I time! Every time he got the mins he produced at a high level he just didn’t get the mins after he left Philly. I’ll truly never understand why.... I know he had some injuries and all but damn I feel he shudda got more mins on Portland! I always thought after his 2013/14 season he proved he was good enuf to be a 30+ Mins a night starter! Guess his coaches didn’t see it that way....

This man beat the odds over and over and over again. 2 star recruit overloooked, not a power division one school, made it out of oakland. Made a LEGACY for himself in the NBA not just a name. He wasnt top 100/75/20 in high school recruit. Not a mcdonalds all american not a none of that. he just KEPT working and KEPT getting better and is STILL getting better. His drive to stay in portland ties to his come up hard against the odds mentality. When no one else believe in me watch what I can do mentality. Nothing was given to him often overlooked. He has the same mentality even as a superstar top 75 player ever. Not much complacency in him. He passed up MANY people who was the next ones up cause he's relentless.
