Stamford bridge is literally: Let’s spend a billion on a roof.
I think the aim is to lower the pitch and put seats downwards rather than up as they can’t build outwards due to train lines and a housing estate, but yes seems pointless
The fans (they own naming rights of chelsea fc and stamford bridge ground) dont want to move so instead, roman will have to spend a billion to completely redo the stadium. Not to mention the skyline near chelsea stadium is full of historic buildings and there are laws to ensure buildings not overshadow these historical buildings.
Unfortunately for Roman and chelsea fans, some complications with uk russia relationships means the plan is stalling. Also covid happened.
Um, fairly certain in the proposed rebuild they are upping the capacity to 60 000 (from 40 000) to compete with other big 6 clubs. dofficult to draw that in a quick 3D rendering. makes for a good joke tho.
QuietTF2 Yeah it’s just a joke. Surely what dean said can’t be true about lowering the pitch? The stands at Stamford bridge are already so close to the pitch, so realistically they could only add a couple thousand and the cost would be enormous.

The stadium design on this is an actual project the club is doing. That was Vichais plan
This is the exact version that leicester city Council gave full permission on . This was yesterday Friday 28.1.22 . The only thing that isn't correct is the video didn't put the double hotel complex being built as part of it
@@stevephillips7264 Planing permission hasn’t been given yet by Leicester City Council. It’s due on 10.2.2022. Prior to August 2021 there had never been planning permission submitted for expanding the King Power Stadium.
Portsmouth only have the small Milton End approved for redevelopment currently. However it's delayed currently as the club is trying to push improving transport capacity before expanding further.
Is the fratton end and North stand going to be like that eventually then, although they just redeveloped the North?
@@Jgreen2407 The North stand was just renovated but there are plans to build a new stand at some future date. The plan shown here looks half baked but unfortunately, housing restricts any development on two sides of the stadium.

Nice stadium for Leicester “Seaty”!

Could you re-do Old Trafford with a matching mirrored south stand? I imagine they would be able to build over the railway and complete the bowl effect. Not completely sold on the retractable roof! Has to be said though, Old Trafford requires a mega renovation.
With a 2 new tiers on the sir Bobby charlton stand not only will old Trafford be a complete shape it will also have a huge capacity boost and the atmosphere would be even more….. I don’t know how to say uhh gosebumpy??? Well you know what I mean
Building over a railway line isn't as simple as just building over a railway line. If it was, don't you think it would've been done 20 years ago?
Can you be specific about some of the problems with Old Trafford? I know the problems with raising the side nearest the tracks include building over the tracks, but also a lack of sunlight on the pitch due to the stand’s height…
@@2themoon863 Now Make Train Underground In That Area

Worst design out of all of them.
@@kevin5073 Nope it's the best design out of them all. H&DM are one of the best and most holistic Architects in the world. The rest of them are just Engineering Projects. Chelsea's is a piece of Architecture. If you look at it objectively, rather than subjectively you will eventually agree.
We live in a time where Bayern plays in a giant red Dingi and Real Madrid builds an enourmous Lunchbox, this is a plausible Addition.

Wish Man United could resolve the train track issue behind the South Stand and redevelop it so it’s no longer three big stands and one very small one (which has always looked odd but not often seen on TV given the cameras are in the South Stand facing outwards). As a villa fan I love the look of ours, the north stand same size as the holte wouldn’t work as holte is always going to be the biggest so that would need another level too good concept tho
Probably find the North Stand will be a similar design to the Holte End only there are no roads to prevent the top tier from having one side cut off. Hoping this happens sooner rather than later, 50,000-55,000 would be ample at the moment. Imagine having two large goal end home supported stands. The old Villa Park did have two large goal end terraces
This video is surprisingly satisfying.

About time
Just came across this vid. Really cool. I'm American but I'm a huge EPL fan and Everton is one of my favorite clubs. I had no idea they were moving to a completely new location. Isn't Goodison Park pretty historic?
Well done, sir. Up the toffees!
Goodison is a lovely old stadium but is showing its age particularly the poor views in the away end. 20k less capacity than the bigger clubs, but a lack of corporate facilities is a bigger issue. More accessible areas is usually an issue with older stadia too, particularly given ever increasing demands by the authorities.
Goodison Park is actually the oldest purpose built Football Stadium in the world, along with Celtic Park in Glasgow as they were both opened on the same day 129 years ago. It's a beautiful, old, proper football ground with pubs, chippys, corner shops, even a church amongst the terraced houses on narrow streets that surround the ground on 2 1/2 sides. Sadly it's just nowhere near modern standards anymore, pillars restricting views, wooden seating in the away end and probably most telling in the 21st century, hardly any corporate boxes.
I'm an Evertonian .. been to 100s of games at Goodison. Sadly the ground has been totally neglected. Apart from the Park End redevelopment in the 90s, literally nothing has been done to the place since the 1960s and not much since the 1920s. It is like stepping back in time going there on a match day. Wooden seats, restricted view with steel pillars, getting a cup of tea and a scone in St Luke's church! It totally pisses me off that Liverpool FC have/are redeveloping Anfied in a fantastic way, and we couldn't do the same with Goodison. The reasons cited are rows of occupied terraced housing and a primary school directly behind the Gwladys and Bullens rd stand (it's effectively one L shaped stand). Bramley Moore will be very nice, but I will shed a tear when Goodison is ripped down. The same historic anguish was in the air when Arsenal left Highbury which was another of the most iconic grounds in the UK - however the famous art deco main stand was preserved (it was listed IIRC) and converted into flats.
What a great video. You missed Rotherham United’s New York Stadium which has plans to expand.

I'll be sorry to see the iconic San Siro go!
One of the Milanese clubs should buy it, renovate it... And flip it lol jk
Why does Man city need a bigger stadium when they have no fan
They actually have one of the highest attendances in the league, I think it’s something like 50,000 or something per game so this joke isn’t that funny anymore and I’m a Liverpool fan ffs
Whilst statistically I'd agree, they claimed last season (just pre-covid) to have near full attendance. Meanwhile in the real world, watching on the telly, you could quite easily see that the stadium was no where near full capacity (I'd say 2/3 max). This, paired with their other examples of cheating (FFP for starters) and other examples of patheticness (playing crowd noise through speakers during a pre-covid game) just proves how plastic of a club they really are. There were 3007 city fans (Google it and you'll get your answer), adjust that for non-arab money inflation due to offspring etc. and let's say there's 8000 now... Just another 50,000 to go then apparently...

Are these designs for real or just your imagination? Either way, brilliant stuff.
I’m pretty shur most of them are real not sure about Newcastle though
Newcastle isn’t real, they would not get permission to add to either of those stands without a complete overhaul and tear down to rebuild only in the existing footprint, the club are looking at expanding the stadium but because Ashley sold a lot of the surrounding ground, it’s is going to be a nightmare, there is talk of rotating the pitch 90degrees and rebuilding but at that point they may as well tear the ground down and build a bigger better one in its place
Some are hypothetical others are real I can tell you as a Celtic fan that smaller stand probably won't ever get changed as it has historical significance as it was part of the old stadium I think I would love it to maybe get up to 70k capacity but I think it's probably about right at 60k tbh.

The new Chelsea stadium actually got planning permission in 2017. The deadline to start initial work passed last year but because of the Covid pandemic having such an effect the local council will likely pass a re-submitted application or extend the deadline.
