It´s a heavyweight VR6 engine in a lightweight Golf Mk1 - that understeer is normal ;) Neutral handling is difficult to reach even with modded setup...
Forced induction works on any motor, but it does not replace the size of the motor. If you turbo a 3.0 and get 400 out of it, you would get 800 out of a 6.0. Think about it buddy boy.

How is the VR6 weight? I hear people think it is to heavy for a Mk1... yet see plenty of swaps. It is only 70lbs heavier. I'm thinking of a VR6 for my MK1 Cabriolet but may do a 1.8T.
I think about that all the time the vr6 or 1.8t, had a mk2 vr6 love the sound and feel its cheaper to get closer to 400 hp or even 350 to the crank with a 1.8t?!? and my turner mechanic said that the 1.8t will hold 350hp all day…but been driving a mk4 337 for 5years now and miss the vr, so idk?

Just because the size of the motor doubles doesn't mean that the horsepower doubles?!?! That makes no fucking sense whatsoever. Too many factors contribute to the horsepower output. What about intercooler? forged or cast pistons? Stock or aftermarket pistons? Exhaust system? Just because the displacement doubles does not meant that the horsepower doubles. It may be slightly more but not double... There is a replacement for displacement.
