  • If you are looking to keep up on the maintenance of your GY6 engine, this valve adjustment is definitely something you need to know how to do. You will need feeler gauges and 8 mm, 9 mm, and 10mm sockets.

    nice vid man, however i adjust them at 3 spots.
    Tdc, one valve closed and the opposed valve open and the compression stroke when both are closed.
    Did it last week just before the oil change 10w40.
    Runs smoother and your taking in account for lobe wear on all sides.
    Realy, before all this it was bogging like crazy, now i can ride the living shit out this little 50cc without any problems.
    Ofcourse remove all the emmision crap(the dutch authorities dont care about it)and rerouted the valve cover hose above the engine with a breather filter.

    • @noneshere
      @noneshere Před 2 měsíci +1

      Every 600 miles is recommended but you'll hear the valve chatter buzzing with the rpms when they do loosen up.
      Loose valves restrict the air flow because the valve is not being fully pushed open.
      Often you'll have low engine power and the engine will want to bog down when dumping the throttle open.
      When the valves are super loose and the engine is about to fail, you'll notice the engine will quit when dropping the scooter down off it's center stand.

    • @drunksanta1427
      @drunksanta1427 Před 5 lety +6

      if there is too much play in the valves, the valve will open later, close earlier and the valve wont open as deeply. So more clearance is less power.
      If the valves are too tight, the valves will not close all the way, leading to backfires and/or exploding carburetors

    Hello I did a adjustment on a buddy 150cc I manually rotated engine on the wheel ( with chain ) it had a line on each side ( left - right ) and on top it had a number marking when I rotated again a hole appears on it ....so I rotated it with lines parallel with valves and hole on top side that was top center I go and adjust them .. rotate engine two cycles back to top center measure again and the shims fit fine so I put it together and no start .. was having starting issues now i really have starting I even covered carb opening before it would start up now nada ☹️ should I of used the other side with the marking and not use the small hole as top center ?? GY6 engines has this incredibly simple cylinder head
      adjusting the exhaust valve on a pitbike engine is a pain in the ass because it is underneath and it is inside a closure
      unlike the GY6's cylinder head the rockerarms are exposed and have more room to work on

      Made in China. People driving these are road hazards and should be draped in flashing neon lights.

      These motors are absolutely bullet proof! They are made in China. Unlike most things in China, these are really reliable 🤘🏻. Do you own one? Or just browsing vids?

      Bwahaha you said bulletproof,made in China and reliable in three consecutive sentences. Just passing through because a buddy bought one of these turdsicles and it has less than 1k miles and it's needed soooo much work it's unbelievable. He pushed it home again yesterday.

      Joey Cottontail aka joe schmo I do this everyday, for 18 years now. These motors are strong 💪. I think your friend is pushing it home because everything else around the motor. But if we are talking about the motor itself, they are bulletproof. Just a little education since you maybe miss informed. This is the most popular Honda Ruckus motor swap motor for a reason.
