    More trash-talking in the media preceded this game with Jerry Stackhouse saying he beat Jordan in some one on one games and Vernon Maxwell saying "to hell with Jordan and Pippen". Jordan came out on fire and ended with 48 in 3 qtrs while also making life hell for Stackhouse and Maxwell on the defensive end. Pippen added 20 points, 10 assists and 5 boards. The Bulls scored 42 points in the 3rd qtr and put the game away and the 4th qtr was basically garbage time for the bench.

    This is the difference between this year's Warriors and the 96 Bulls. The 96 Bulls were chillin the entire game against bad teams... and sure enough, bad teams are the ones who were lucky to beat them that year. 75% of MJ's 50+ point games came against winning teams. Prototype example was this year when they had played the Grizz and were losing... then a Grizz player talked shit off of the bench and Mj went on a rampage, winning the game. This team could have easily blown out teams by more. Imagine what a nightmare they'd be defensively and on the break today?

    • @KCY4LUNG
      @KCY4LUNG Před 8 lety +14

      I agree. and those Bulls losses were closely contested ones winning by a margin of 1-5 point difference. I thought that they would get a 74-8 or even 76-6 record during that time because they were just unstoppabull. but the losses came due to them just chillin around especially in the latter part of the season. not to mention that that era was stacked with Super Teams. the East and West teams were scary strong and any of those teams other than the Bulls could become champions and beat today's NBA champions for the last 10 years.

Go watch the famous game when Bird scored 60 against the Hawks...in New Orleans (a supposed home game for the Hawks). The crowd was increasingly going bonkers, because of the show Bird was putting on as the game moved along.
      Can't speak about Kobe, but MANY ppl can't stand LeBron, so stands to reason why they won't be cheering him. Guys like Jordan, Bird, Magic were HUGELY popular outside of Chicago, Boston, LA, so when you have a likable superstar putting on a show like those guys routinely did, it's easy to see why they would get cheers from the visiting crowd.

    @ercarras Actually they were pretty good. They had some notable talent in Stackhouse Maxwell, and Weatherspoon. It was just hard for them to compete against a fired up MJ. That Bulls team was remarkable in itself with some great role players.

    I remember this game very well, i remember the hoopla leading up to this game with Stackhouse and Maxwell popping off at the mouth talking trash. Now trash talk is a part of the game, i understand that, but MJ is that one dude you don't talk shit to, you just don't. Just let your play do the talking. I remember watching this game and just seeing MJ absolutely torch and annihilate both young dumb Stackhouse and MJ's so called rival Mad Max. MJ had 48 points in only 3 quarters,'96 bulls was sick.

    @MIKESOWELL Yeah, i know what you mean, i was a little dissapointed Phil took MJ out as well. He would have hit 60 points easily in that game, i guess since the Bulls we're torching Philly so bad on they're home floor, he decided to take MJ out. The Bulls were up by more than 30 points going into the fourth period. The Bulls had so many games like this in '96 and '97, where MJ, Pip & Worm hit the bench early, and that definantly costed them points, rebounds,assists,steals,blocks, etc.

    The most "modern" version of the Bulls that can dominate in any era. Just a little tweak, this Bulls team would dominate today's league.
    MJ shot well from the arc that season. Obviously, his mid range is more refined than ever. Then could get explosive at times when needed.
    Then you have Pipp. He had a chance to fully develop himself without MJ in 1993-94 and most of 1994-95. This must be his most developed version complimentary to MJ.
    Then you have Rodman. "Who controls the rebound, controls the game." Said Akagi of Slam Dunk to Sakuragi.
    As is, they would still dominate today's league.
    Give them the benefit of today's training and nutrition, as well as letting them practice 3s more, it would be ABOMINATION.
