For me, this brings up the question of loyalty and motive. Gold diggers will target anyone that they consider as easy or vulnerable. But no matter what golddiggers will never prevail and will lose more than they had gained before.

If I was Hugh her just going to prison for a very long time, maybe the rest of her life would not be enough for me. I would use bribery to get some of the guards working in whatever prison they lock her up in to treat her extra terribly. Maybe find a way to funnel a few multiples of ten thousand dollars into the accounts of some of the other female inmates if they agree to beat her up a few times. I would manipulate the system with my bribe money to make her prison stay ESPECIALLY terrible.

@@ameliawarfield5637 Once you pretend to love someone and earn their trust and loyalty and affection including MARRYING them which is supposed to be a SACRED BOND OF LOVE, if you are doing all of that so that you can kill someone for their money you are EVEN WORSE than a regular murderer (morally that is, under the law its pretty much prosecuted the same way).
For example if a "regular" murderer were to kill me right now for my money, maybe break into my house or something they would be MORALLY SUPERIOR to this woman because unlike her they never pretended to love me, never married me, never swore to love and honor and obey me in a church. None of that. So I say that she is an EVEN WORSE person than a regular murderer. If I was wealthy and something similar were to happen to me I would use some of my wealth as a weapon to make her even more miserable. Hell, maybe I would pay the warden 2 million dollars to single her out for extra harsh treatment.

I had a friend he was a Navy man in his early years he had nurses and alot of people throwing themselves at him because of his medical condition.I would of never believed it if he didn't tell me himself.Let's call him John and he told me point blank they wanted his money.I don't know why they would try because he did have grown children who were his POA. Then there's a girl who inherited a IRA and made her sister and husband beneficiary of it so in case she died they would take care of her son.When they found out they tried to kill her or maim her but she was seriously beat 💰💰💰💰all for money.The good part is she is alive they did not get what they wanted but it came at a high price . It almost cost her ,her life. Yes , people can be shallow,mean ,and downright vicious.

If I was Hugh I would thank her by giving her a monetary reward and it would compensate her for the loss of her career. However, I think taking that bribe at the start of the story is a completed FELONY and the truth would likely come out in a trial investigation. I am not sure you can get license back if you are convicted of a FELONY related to your profession (as opposed to just negligence).
He truly loved her and she wanted to kill him, love is better than money if I had met this old man and he fell for me I'd be grateful someone at any age treated me like I was there only light in this world.

This story reminds me of a controversy about a 21-year-old gold digger nurse receiving backlash for marrying a man who is 70 years older than her.
You know what KARMA I would want for that young nurse? It is extremely rare but the world's healthiest people live 120 years. I would LOVE (might be good for a fictional story) for her luck to be REALLY REALLY BAD and she makes the mistake of marrying one of those one in a billion people and when he finally dies she is 50 years old.
