I suspect, even tho they didn't show this in the story, that that's EXACTLY what DID happen,so I imagine, that both the kindly but bereaved father and his new found daughter, would have a very happy life together. At least, I DO hope so for them both.

These people didn't see they had a loving daughter. Someday maybe they will get what they deserve. The little girl deserves a real family who cares and will love her. A part 2 is needed.
The father and his new wife are reported by Aria and the man. With the police gathering evidence against them, CPS puts her in an orphanage against her wishes to remain with the dad who loved her. Aria demands they take her back to her real dad now because he cared for her when that horrible father and his gold-digging stepmother kicked her out. The social worker explains they can't for the moment because of precautionary policies they must follow. In some cases, Aria may be placed in a home with her relatives. For now they have to wait. The police finds plenty of evidence of the father and stepmother's abuse towards her.
In jail, the man who rescues Aria confronts the father for what he done. The latter retaliates that he never wanted to care for the girl and felt that his dead wife failed to give him a son. His new wife is pregnant with their son and once this is over, they'll give him the love and care that he deserves. To the father, Aria was nothing more than a burden to him. Angered, the man calls him out for being an abusive and sexist bastard to his own child. He lost his daughter a year ago and he never blamed her for his wife's death. Seeing the father behave like a narcissistic sexist proved the latter only cared about himself. The father responds that he can have Aria all he wants because he and his wife doesn't need her. They are preparing to have their son and he will be the apple of their eyes. After hearing the father's confession in jail via a tape recorder, the man's lawyer friend plays it for all to see the next day. The judge is very angered by this and terminates both the father and stepmother's parental custody of Aria. He also terminates their custody of the unborn baby and will have it removed off them. Both father and stepmother are arrested for their crimes. 9 months later, she gives birth to a baby girl and she's taken away by CPS.
The social worker finds out that none of the relatives wants to take Aria in because of the father and think they're out of options. However, the man appears and tells them that he wants to adopt Aria and the baby girl(whom he names Piper in honor of his late daughter). He mentions that he may be working during the day, but he always comes back home to be with them. The man is able to take Aria and the baby home. He raises both with love and care. Sometime later, the man meets a wonderful woman who loves him and his girls. After they marry, the woman helps raise the girls with love. The four become a family, while the father and stepmother are seen spending life in prison for their abuse and getting the deserved karma from the angry inmates in jail.

Christmas is a time to spend time with the people you love like friends and mostly family, I really can't believe that Aria's father would side with his second wife as they kicked her out of the house on Christmas Eve. Well I'm glad in the end of the story that Aria have a new family who shows kindness to her more than her cold heartless father who choose his wife over his own child, I never though I have to say this but there are some family who doesn't belong together because they don't understand the meaning of family and sadly never will.

Oh they'll have got THAT alright, if only because when the kindly man adopted her, the girls past history would have been examined and the truth found out, and social and childcare services would have made sure, that the evil biological father/ and his 2nd missus, would have been handed over to the courts, and probably thr prison services too.

Actually, the stepmom and the "father" were dangerous, not the "scary" man. The man suffered the loss of his daughter and it was really hard for him. To kick your child out just because of a partner is unforgivable. A father is a man who loves, protects and cares for his child. And Aria's "father" doesn't deserve this title.

He is not picking her OVER his daughter because a long term loving relationship with such a terrible person is not possible. At some point soon either she will ditch him for better prospects or she will end up treating him terribly and he will want to leave her and then he will be all alone and if he realizes what he has done and tries to reunite with his daughter it will be too late she won't want anything to do with him and he will end up with NEITHER his wife OR his daughter just plain ALL ALONE and I wish the video had shown that.

The father and the Stepmom made me so angry what kind of person they are letting this poor girl to go outside on a stormy Christmas Eve to sale candy to every person around the neighborhood. Man if I was in this story I would rescue this poor girl from this storm.
If I was in this story I would have beaten up both her father and step mother brutally. I know a man is not supposed to hit a lady but when someone is THAT EVIL normal societal conventions do not apply.
That first house where Aria sold some candy, that lady should at least have let her come inside to warm up and try to find out WHY she's outside in that storm on Xmas eve in the 1st place. Things would never have got out of hand if that had happened.
