I used to attend West Angeles Church when I was in my 20's. Bishop Blake has always been a man of Integrity & Honor.
The Pastor handled it like a Champ, very humble and meek and took his seat without saying a word. Much Respect 🙏 👏
Like they say, "If two people arguing, you don't know who the fool is." Glad the pastor remained humble.
Yes. I am glad the Bishop humbly sat down without argument. And I hope the decedent did not go to God holding on to unforgiveness. I just hope that didn't happen.

I’m not COGIC, but I appreciate how this archbishop here not only stood up for the Biblical principles of love and forgiveness, but he also stood BY the other Bishop while he delivered his remarks. It was a token of honor and protection; it was a “covering” unlike that which is common in Pentecostalism. Much applauds
I agree with the bishop who said that was inappropriate. Thank you for correcting them and allowing him to say what he came to say. That shows the difference between a real man of God and someone who is just religious.

I have no words to describe what I initially witnessed and have no words to commend what I saw afterwards. I love how Bishop stood beside him and protected him from OPINIONS as he spoke. This kind of public humiliation was wrong, but sometimes we are wronged by small men to be honored by great men.

@@susananderson2158, Speaking from personal experience is the reason I guess I am so passionate about this matter and commenting a lot. My dad was a pastor, in COGIC, and there was a Missionary who got upset, held a grudge, but later asked my dad to forgive her. However, when she told her family about it, she did not tell them she was on good terms again with her pastor before she died. They came to the funeral to start mess. We nip that before they came in the door, but one always got to do the most, by walking to view her sister and looking up at my dad while he was preaching, and walking out. Nobody else in the family walked with her. She did foolishly and I am sure she felt like it too!! So yes, this bothered me because we must pray, fast, and ask God to bind that devil who is coming to try to destroy this grand ole church!!
Wrong place wrong time. If the wishes were not to let that Bishop speak, then that should have been acknowledge before the service not during.
Even a bishops in the church they don't want to hear the truth when you come with truth just like Jesus had truth he spoke the truth and people don't want to hear sound Doctrine they want to be stuck in their religion just like the Sadducees and the Pharisees the God bless I hope we all be ready when Jesus come
What if they did and it was ignored? We don't know the issues or the problem this family or the individual had with Bishop Thuston. Therefore, we shouldn't judge it.

Bryann Rogers, in COGIC the National church pays for the funeral service for bishops. The family has very little control over the arrangements. If you check out other home going services for bishops you will find the order of service is the same. The hymn of comfort is usually we will understand it better bye and bye, as an example. There are some exceptions but the order of service, for the most part, is the same.
@@jameshill6210 You are correct. I served at my Bishops funeral at home and its very clear. The family only have a say so for the state funeral but the official and final service is handled by the national thats including the music.

Memphis is 45 minutes from Moscow.. his classy self didn't have time for those faithful cogic members.. if u don't hold a credential in cogic,you are NOTHING to them.... the credential holder's have a card. Do the members have a number/id... the members in the pews are keeping the church going. They r paying the bills so u take care of them too. I meant what I said okay........

All of that should have been ironed out prior to the precession into the sanctuary. If the late Bishop didn't want Thuston to speak, that should have been made clear before service started.
You are correct but I think that bishop sims did do that. Blake doesn't handle business. He just let confusion carry on... Blake knew that sims didn't want that other bishop to speak.. What people dont understand is that In COGIC, when you become a Bishop, you sign a contract that says upon your death, you can have a local a d jurisdictional funeral, but after that, the body belongs to the National Church. Dont take them yearly checks a d all the benefits of being aBishop, then wanna not honor what you signed. That body belongs to COGIC, cause you took all the benefits while he was living. The family doesnt get the right to say what happens at the National Funeral, they had the option to keep their asses at home. These Bishops ans their wives know this, so Blake wasnt gonna do anything different, and he shouldn't have.,

The World saw how a matter should be handled with Grace and Wisdom. Jesus came in contact with things like this, just like Peter starting mess by cutting the man ear off. The Bishop that was speaking didn’t try to argue with the man. And Bishop Blake used wisdom and humility as well. In this life, we will all be confronted with distasteful things, but the victory is how we handle it. Many of our men in the world in the streets get to see how real men of God handle conflict. And not by getting deadly weapons or with profanity. Young men need to see this, just like Jesus didn’t hide His confrontations!!

Prudence and kindness is something that some leaders in the church have to learn. The wisdom and kindness of Bishop Blake and the brother who was publicly snubbed, both exemplified the Jesus I know.
That was a loving message he also gave to the surviving wife after having been disrespected….mildness goes a long way.
My first thought was toward his wife and children, if he has them. How embarrassing and inappropriate. The ‘request’ should have been handled in advance - not - while the man is already up at the microphone.

Thank God for Bishop Charles E. Blake for standing by the Bishop, while he graciously asked him to come back to give his remarks. If the Bishop that was funeralized made this request, out of hatred towards the man, then my thoughts are, did he die with hatred in his spirit against him? I pray that he made it right with God, and he just happened to forget that he made that request and was too ill to correct the request that he made.

I feel that man of God's pain. I went through a similar situation but God worked in my favor. An individual that didn't professionally being saved stood up for me. That speaks volumes about my character. Reputation is what you are in public, but character is what you are when you're alone.

I never comment on these things however, when I saw this, I cannot believe the disrespect for God, His House, Presiding Bishop Blake and the entire Church Of God In Christ. COGIC has to get it together! This was something that should have been handled before the service. God is not pleased and this dude made himself, the family, everyone that attended and the entire COGIC look very bad however, I applaud the Bishop that was disrespected and how he humbled himself, allowed God to fight the battle and handled it like a true Man of God! In addition, I applaud Bishop Blake for allowing God to stand up inside and not act crazy.
That's why I never joined them but became Presbyterian instead and we believe in being baptized in the Holy Spirit too. Pentecostals don't have that monopoly. I heard about the mess that goes on at those convocations too. spouses attending without their husbands and wive and getting into mess

This is a lesson for all the saints. God is nigh to fix the wrong. By his good actions to sit down and allow God to give him the victory is better than anything he could have said or done.

This just shows you what it means to have integrity and to not have it. Thank God for the man of God who had the integrity to correct the error in love and hopefully the other man learned a lesson. His intent only brought shame to himself. He could have done that before the event and discussed his issue
