Excellent video, just bought a van with disabled wheelchair lift and investigating how they work. Now one step further along the road of discovery. Thank you for your efforts in making this video
Thanks so much.. I have to replace the gland nut and a new piston w/ seals kit.. so taking off the arm showed me in advance of what I'll be doing.. on a side note ricon parts as a pin and spring aligning tool that I have wish I could post a picture of it but it screws into hole the screw goes in and looks like a flat tiped torpedo which I have though your way works well enough.. Thanks again joe!
Hello Joe, Have question or 2 .. Wheel chair Lift I am currently in the dreaming/educating of a Skoolie like I feel would best fit my needs. I will need a full size bus with wheelchair lift. If I purchase a bus without a Lift, IS it very difficult to install one. Have seen videos of them removed and worked on.(Yours) Oh I would want the lift in the middle of the bus. Wanting 98-2003 pusher. Have only seen a photo on google once that was pusher w/lift in middle.
Hey there billy. A wheel chair lift is not too complicated to install. It’s somewhat heavy though. If you plan to wire it with all the safety features as a school bus. It’s best if you buy a unit with the lift. If you plan on doing a simple wiring. Then it’s very possible. I can help u out with a schematic for a simple wire or the school bus wiring. You will need quite a few sensors, switches, and some wiring skills. But hey. If you have the time. Both either one can be done. Now when it comes to anchoring the lift to the floor. 1/4 steel plate is recommended under the units floor. Dreams can but reality if you really want it. I never thought I’d own a bus and now I have 2. Work in progress. Any questions. Feel free to email or comment on u tube.
Hello Joe, how are you doing? i am ok... hey i have a Ricon lift question for you. Is it hard to replace a Ricon S-Series Wheelchair Lift Manual Pump Assembly?? because mine is leaking hydraulic fluid around the manual back up pump handle.
@@JoesBusBarn Hello there and thank you for taking the time to write me back and so fast. Thank you so much. Is that something that a person can fix their selves or would a pro have to do it? Also, would you know where i can get the manual pump kit from?

You can try to replace the seals on the pump handle little piston/push rod or they sell it as a manual pump kit. Comes with new pushrod and seals.
