Sam Fender's singing is brilliant here. I would also like to point out 2 standout moments that made this performance extra special: 1. The camera going round and showing us Sam + his backing crew between the 6s and 21s. And 2. Johnny the saxophonist's hat and T-shirt! All of these things have made this 1 of my fave Live Lounge performances of 2020 so far. Good on you, lads! ^o^ X X X X X
This is actually unbelievable given how bad his throats been. You can tell because he’d never usually leave the high notes to his guitarist like that...saw him in Brighton and he hit the notes despite being told not to. Had to call off his next couple of gigs. Must be so frustrating for him...
Obvs not Sam but finally recovering from vocal damage after many years and getting support too and I can tell you when music is in you and part of you like this young man it is akin to having no tongue and you can't hit notes where you can FEEL you should be. UGH! Awful feeling. I really felt it for him listening. Love this song and it's all about those high notes with this tune. I wish him a very speedy recovery. Despite this an excellent rendition.
That snare's a different kind of off-putting. Not getting the usual EDM snare knee jerk reaction: hit that drum again & I might hang myself. just a lil too THICC on the mixing. ..What a voice!
He actually normally sings it quite well live but he's just coming back from a bad bout of tonsillitis so Joe's just giving him a helping hand while his voice gets back to scratch! :)
