Hey Jabs, about that $2,500 price sticker. Some cleaners and chemicals can take the gloss right off the slab case. If you decide to remove the sticker, then may I suggest starting out cautiously by dabbing the price sticker with warm soapy water to saturate and loosen the sticker's paper sleeve. Then use peanut butter or mayonnaise to loosen the adhesive. The small amount of oil in either of these food products works into the adhesive and breaks it up making it easier to wipe away. It's a slow and messy process that may take many attempts but at least you will preserve the surface gloss of the slab case. Go at your own risk with chemicals and cleaners. Edit: I totally agree about the price sticker on the actual slab. I have all my graded cards in a plastic sleeve and thats how i have them either displayed in my house or in my storage box. I think they look good in the plastic sleeves and they make them for the different size graded holders. Honestly, every dealer should have their cards in them. A little gripe of mine.
"Goof Off" spray works really well on the sticker residue for your Clemente. Thanks again, Jabs! It's really fun to watch!!!

it's BLOWING MY MIND how cheap those rookie cards are. it's like dealers act like "well, if it's not graded it's worthless"
MAC machines…I haven’t heard that term in about 30 years lol! Yes, they are called ATM machines now…and have been for decades. More importantly, epic haul from the National. Amazing Acuna, Soto, Bichette, and Vladdy pickups. Surprised no Tatis and no Ohtani cards for yourself. But as you said, no deals to be had with the latter. Overall, big congrats!

Not a member but enjoy your posts. Glad I held on to my Ohtani cards when my dad and I got back into buying cards, chasing Ohtani. My blue border Archives numbered to 25 just came back in as a PSA 10. I start buying Ryan McMahon and Issac Paredes rookie cards, great value in those two guys, imo.

You should know, I purchased two nice Schmidt Rookies at the show, and I think you ended up with the better one. I sent the remaining Schmidt Rookie out for grading by SGC, and it received an SGC 6. Congrats on your great buy!! Please let me know if you come to any shows in Phila. area

Niagara Sports Cards is my LCS other than Dave and Adams which is more corporate and sells local Bills and Sabres stuff. Chris at Niagara does Beckett and PSA subs and I’ve been happy with the results. Glad you were able to find some great cards from him. I picked up a nice 65 Clemente from him at a local card show last month.
And yea he does actually watch you. We were discussing it last time I was in the shop. We talked about those Mickey Mantle boxes and how you had just put out a video and pulled a mantle sig.
First time I have heard Mac Machine and I worked at a bank for over a decade. lol
I recently picked up an Ohtani advent calendar card like the acuna card you picked up. They have great images and a fairly low print run. I think the are greatly underrated. The print run for the Ohtani is 2163 and the acuna is only 1669!!!!!!

Domestic flight prices are ridiculous. When overseas you can get flights anywhere in country and surrounding ones for $200. I used to fly from Adana to Istanbul 1st class for $179 once a week lol.
You wouldn't find 2 tens.....the problem isn't card condition it's hologram centering. My brother bought 10 complete sets and got 8 9's and 2 8's. That Griff 10 is a tough pull!
