Lol, same. I'm thinking of going next year and was deciding what to take with me and my max would be $1,000 but that would be used to buy a bunch of wax and singles. Most I ever spent on one single card is probably $15.

If you check populations of some 51 and 52 cards there are hundreds of them in good condition PSA 4s to 9. True rookies RPAs of many sports stars often only have 1 in existence. That's way some idiots pay more for Rookies of say Jordan Love or some other nobody in 5 years over a legitimately rare short printed 51 or 52.

Gotta give props to you Jabs. Of all the nationals videos out there yours is the best because you provide commentary on footage you record yourself so it comes across focused and well edited. Also Ike’s art is amazing. Even had me interested in some players I’m not even a hardcore fan of like that jerry rice wow
I was just thinking about how much better it was with the voice over. 99% of the video from the national is kinda chaotic to watch with poor audio and so much background noise

Believe it or not, my fav card in that set is the Dr. Bobby Brown card. Dude was an absolute underrated legend. Veteran of 2 wars, 4X world series champ, became a doctor, and then president of the National League lmfao. Insane.

That 1951 Bowman Mantle is the holy grail of baseball cards. Forget Honus. Forget 52 Mantle. Forget 2011 Trout.
Hahaha, your brother just picked up that exact 62 Topps Whitey Ford League Leaders on Sunday... I guess he bought a partial 62 Topps set and now he's trying to complete it.. Pretty funny how you guy bought the same exact card only a couple of days apart, lol.

Amazing from dollar boxes and junk boxes to a great 51 Bowman set with an actual Mantle rookie card , a nice 2.5 and 4.0 Mays rookie card. Too bad the Ford rookie card was poor. I think you made a good buy as that Mantle will continue to move up. Enjoy and do not regret,

reminds me of the shows I went to in the 80s and 90s...buying 49 Campy, 55 Koufax, 59 Gibson and stuffing the cards in my pocket (carefully)...buying a T205 Matty for $25 and a complete 1965 Topps set (ex-m) for $125...and sending auto requests and getting 2 page letters/responses from Waite Hoyt, Smoky Joe Wood, George Uhle, Stan Coveleski, Joe Sewell and Bill Wambganss..Hoyt talked about Ruth and Fred Lieb, the others talked about Ray Chapman

1951 BOWMAN Complete Set!! That’s crazy!!! What a score!!
There were some amazing cards there, but it also shows how much some people hoard/corner the market on certain ones. That's why the rest of us can't ever get some of them haha. Newer cards are nice and all, but for me the older vintage cards are *THE* investment to make. Much more scarce and there's just so much history. The cards just have, for lack of a better word, souls. When I see those cards it makes me think of walking into my LCS as a kid and looking at all the stuff in the display counters. And it's great to see you taking the kids there and letting them experience that. Baseball cards are so Americana. Great memories to be had at a place like that.
