    Good commentator this time. Calm enough to make the game enjoyable :-)

      No doubt about it. He adds some good insight and doesn't ramble on like so many others do.

    It must have been a slightly awkward moment when they saw each other...
    Shane: "I knew I should have worn my pink polo today."
    Thorsten: "Holy shit! I can't believe Shane isn't wearing his pink polo. What are the odds we both decided to wear blue polos?"

    Shane's beautiful safety leaving it pretty much frozen to the 8 was beautiful speed control and it doesn't get much better. I would love to meet Shane someday because he is a real champion and it seems like a down to earth fella👍

    Nice to see Thorsten finally giving in to the soft break. I watched earlier matches where he stubbornly kept breaking hard and was getting punished on position for the 1. Magic racks on bar tables need a soft break, and you have an open run almost every time as long as you hold the cue ball.

    In 9 ball of this caliber what do you think the percentage of 9 balls are shot into the corner pockets in the kitchen? Has to be extremely low.

    54:16 does anyone know what english he used here? it seems like the 5 should have zig zagged off the 2nd rail but he killed the angle and it came straight back toward the 6 ball

    Not a fan of the wimpy break... i do understand why they do it... it’s all about controlling the table but I think it kinda detracts from the game .I enjoy watching these guys unload on the break ... Shane has a monster break... one of the best in the game and it seems ashame not to use it!!!! This is kinda like pattern racking in a way!!! Takes the excitement element out of it!!!

    Why do some players always take a chalk away with them before leaving the table?
    Seems inconsiderate.

    • @rubberducky1853
      @rubberducky1853 Před 5 lety +3

      They take Their chalk with them after leaving the table as a “courtesy” to the other player. Basically so the other player doesn’t accidentally lean on a chalk they didn’t know was there or so it’s not in their line of sight.

    Is it just me or does Shane never look like hes enjoying himself when he plays pool. I understand focus and intensity but he literally looks like he dreads every second of it.

    • @jaf00181
      @jaf00181 Před 9 lety +1

      It's not just you, I was thinking the same thing the whole time. Along with not looking like he's enjoying it, he also looks like he's just playing any ol' regular game of nine ball at his hometown pool hall for fun. It's like he's not even trying. Like you, I understand focus and intensity as well, and there is none with him. That caused him to miss a ball early on. The one in the corner that the commentator went on and on about. I personally didn't think it was that big a deal. These guys are the greatest pool players in the world, but they too are human and humans aren't perfect at anything, however, if Shane would had focused a little more and actually tried, he would had made the shot. I'm not meaning for this to sound like I'm knocking Shane, he's one of my favorite players and THE best in the world. I'm just stating the obvious.

    • @jonl1319
      @jonl1319 Před 9 lety +2

      I got to say when I'm really really into my game I have a similar expression. It's just a moment when you are completely focused on the game you tune out the outside world. Also it can mess up the other player if you look like you don't care. Or you meant to do everything you've done.

    • @samphilipp4997
      @samphilipp4997 Před 4 lety

      Yeah pool is definitely a poker face because your emotional expressions will be seen by your opponent.

    Fortunately for Shane during this match, the stream had only one commentator rather than the usual duo. Could imagine how difficult it would be to walk around the table with two full grown men squeezing his nuts this hard. I'm a Shane fan, but this particular hour of commentator gushing is a bit much...lol

    I don't find it very entertaining watching pro players play on a bar box table. These are way too easy for them.

    • @samphilipp4997
      @samphilipp4997 Před 4 lety

      Dude it's something different for them and the angles are the same but speed control is different so they want the practice
