i can’t stop watching this, seeing these scenes without the unnecessary human interruptions makes them so much more awesome and interesting
What's surprising is that the sense of scale doesn't seem to suffer at all due to the lack of human presence. These monsters still look massive. Gotta hand it to the cinematographers.
It's something that I sorely missed in the newest GxK movie.
I'd rather watch each Titan take a dump than some boring humans trying to give me a backstory on what's going on. It's like I get it.. there's gigantic monsters and they have badass fights. So.. let's get to the fighting shall we. I guess I'm supposed to learn about the ancient civilizations that once worshiped these beasts and then I'll be like "oh ok that makes sense now, I just couldn't get past these questions and enjoy the fights."

The way she slam Rodan to the ground was savage, bitch slap Ghidorah into the building was also pretty good. She def held her own for her small size she packed a punch.

Throughout this entire movie he was incredibly solemn and determined, and it’s so much better than GvK’s approach to Godzilla, which was making him a big mindless egotistical monster who makes goofy faces and runs into buildings. Godzilla actually felt intelligent until Adam Wingard screwed everything over.

@@CobbleBompster to be fair, in GvK, zilla and kong were both just acting more like actual animals instead of the anthropomorphized versions of them we’re used to. they specifically acted like animals that are notoriously territorial. (gorillas are well known to be territorial, and while godzilla is a fictional beast, it’s pretty easy to see that a lot of his appearance and behavior is modeled after komodo dragons, which are also very aggressive and possessive of their territory.) they were having a petty squabble over who was the strongest, who was on whose land, etc, until they chose to unite against a common enemy, mechagodzilla.
@@CobbleBompsterfor real, I liked GVK godzilla as he felt kind of like a villain in the first few parts of the movie but GXK ruined godzilla IMO GXK also being directed by Adam wingard I like evolved godzillas design but they made him way stupider than GVK godzilla and KOTM godzilla and I liked his KOTM design better I hope we get a new director or godzilla goes to how he was in KOTM and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THEY BETTER NOT MAKE ANOTHER GODZILLA AND KONG MOVIE

Still amazes me when "fans" try assert that Legendary Goji is one of the weakest incarnations of the character. The dude has tanked unbelievably deadly attacks and done insane things with his atomic breath...nevermind his top tier melee skills.

This movie should have made much more money at the box office than it did. Good to see it getting the love it deserves all these years later. I loved it when i first saw it in theaters
If it wasn’t released around Endgame, it would have done much better. Bad timing I guess. Luckily with the success of GvK and GXK Legendary and Warner have seen that this film’s lack of large success was a fluke. Still an awesome movie!
Apparently it made its money in the Asian markets and was really well received there and also to the ones that matter; the fans and Toho themselves. It wasn't the smartest coming out right after Endgame but it definitely seems to be getting more appreciation now with the groundwork it laid for the monsterverse to expand.

The way I see this movie is that every Kaiju is the main character, and humans are just there to help tell the story since we can't understand their motives. I say we need the humans, but to just that extent. If you can see the movie in that way, then it's a great movie. Otherwise, it wasn't for you. This movie is amazing to me because Godzilla is such a focus of the movie. I am glad Minus One covered the more human aspect of the movie while still doing Godzilla justice. I think thats all that matters as long as Godzilla is awesome and frightening at the same time rather he is all villain all hero or anti-hero the movie succeeded.
I wished they were smart enough to release a kaiju only perspective version of the movie they release on blue ray or just on a digital platform

Everytime I watch this it effects me the same way. The way Godzilla calls out to Mothra just breaks my heart. I also noticed whenever he does the pulse attack I can still hear Mothra. It's like when she died, her essence went into him and they became one. If you look closely you can see Mothra's wing pattern in the pulse attack as well. It's obvious to me how close their bond truly is. Godzilla proves y he is the King.
Michael Dougherty wrote Godzilla/Kaiju fans a love letter with Godzilla King of the Monsters. Michael truly is one of us.
I really hope Michael Dougherty returns to direct another Godzilla movie in the Monsterverse. Specifically the movie he wants to do that will tell the story of the time that the Titans roamed the earth.
Namely the first time Godzilla and Ghidorah battled.

No way, you're insane. G2014 is the best and it isn't close. It was so dark and mature. And the size/speed of the monsters was realistic. It wasn't too bad in KOTM but GvK and GxK is like they're 50 pounds and 10 feet tall, there's no weight or size to them at all.
