I grabbed 2 of the 10" version to go in my 21 tundra crewmax ( prior to this video). Space is beyond limited in the truck. Found a place to build a ported box with mounting depth that would be 5.5 per sub instead of the pre-fabs that were 3.5 max. Will be built specifically for the subs. Can't wait to tear this truck apart and get that factory crap out. Keep up the good work bud
I think a $200 sub in a box that size or smaller would probably get the job done as well or even better. Would love to see my theory tested. Two $100 subs in a prefab versus one $200 sub in a good enclosure..

I wonder what 2 Toro Fierce 12s would do The last time you tested one it wasn't pushed to see what it was capable of you put the RMS power into it but I would like to see what two of them would do on the SPL meter 🤔 they're definitely in the budget subs spot and in a proper box at 2.6 CF for each sub will do amazing I would say that single box you have with the plexiglass front would be great what is that box tuned at and how many cubic feet is it also the Power Acoustik Gothic Walmart subs are budget as well I haven't seen any good testing on them but love the videos keep them coming stay up and stay Bassin brother 🔊🔊🤙🏼
I had two on an NVX VAD2700.1 at 1ohm in q custom 4th order bandpass I built(first ever badpass, it suvked) 1.5 sealed per, 1.5 ported per at 40hz, and I got a 148.1 peak at 42hz, but a 145+ from 30hz all the way to 54hz before it started to fall off. Incredibly loud system it was awesome

Hey Parker I just bought a ds18 12 4D using a Power Acoustik amp do you have a review on these and the amp that would fit this one good cuz I'm only pushing half the RMS power it calls for 1250 RMS but I'm afraid to give it that much cuz a lot of the speakers cannot handle the RMS power they say
No need to worry, power acoustic amps dot even make rated power, set your gains with an o-scope to see how much clean power your actually getting, it's prob 1/4 of what it says on the amp
Which sundowns do you have? Also just an fyi sundown subs can handle double the rms. I got 2 lcs and I've been running them on 700 watts each for 2 years now.

Yeah, no suggestions other than a sealed box for whatever sub ya have or choose, but I gotta say I'm kinda in the same boat so to speak.. I went from an Xterra with plenty of room for the boxes for my 15" TC Sounds Tropo and my 12" Audiopulse Axis subs plus the little 6x9 boxes, extra batt, amps and so on to a first Gen Grand Cherokee that is definitely a much smaller SUV! I have a different setup no But still have 2 boxes. A dual 12 factory ported Kicker box and a custom ported box I will be building for the 12" Audiopulse Axis quad 1 ohm voice coil sub. Probably start with 3 amps. 2500 Orion XTR for the Audiopulse, and maybe a 800 Kicker for the other 2 subs, and something else for the pair of 6x9's.. Should be pretty decent for starters anyway, hoping it will be SLAMMING HARD, but guess I'll find out when I finally get the time to install the Deck and run all the 0 gauge and 2nd battery etc..
I have a ZVX8 in the trunk of my Miata. Box is .8cuft tuned to about 38hz. It is the same depth as the SA-12 but the box could be flat against the side of your trunk area and leave you with more floor space.
Me too! I still run single 12” alpine type r subs in my convertible. I have a 1.5ish cubes ported box for when the top is up and a sealed .7 cubes box for when top is down and taking up trunk space
I’m still amazed that with 4 12 inch volfenhag subs and a kicker dx700 I was able to hit 149.9db and I see so many people with wayyy more power not getting anywhere near that .. did 173.8db in outlaw class by putting the mic inside the port and box as I watched it climb higher .. We got into the 150s using 2 12s and a 1200w kicker amp .. this was 2000-2003? My buddy ended up getting sponsored by kicker before his drug habit ruined his life .. he got $5k worth of free stuff .. little off topic .. what was we doing different then? We were hitting way higher numbers with way less power cause big boys amps weren’t really available .. 1000-1500w was huge! I figured at this point technology would have made it so much better and we would be seeing guys in the 150s with nothing for power but guess I was wrong . Now it’s 5kw to get in the 150s for most guys ..

You'll be happier with one 12 than 2 8's. If you want Sundown, I'd recommend the U12. A buddy of mines had the U12 with a Sundown 1500W amp and that things is impressively loud

Except u can get the new 1000 w rms mtx 2 twelve terminator setup for 200 and 260 with amp... not to be confused with the 400 rms terminator setup that looks the same
does anyone here know what happens if the box ported area is bigger than the subwoofer specs. i know you get port noise if its smaller but what happens if its bigger
It's easier to overload your sub if the enclosure is too large. It'll take less power to move it. Edit: just saw you said port area too large sorry about that. I think if the port area is too large you'll have similar results as when the entire enclosure is too large. Less power handling and probably some sort of port "noise"

Even with 2 a vxf sub is about 3 or 4 classes better and more powerful sub 1 12 vxf will do over 142 db they can handle 3k these the db entry subs are 500 rms and have terrible ts parameters to be honest the power acoustik gothic subs from Walmart are a better built and better sounding sub u just can't beat them for the price and they will take 1k rms each of CLEAN POWER.
Think it's time for a skar audio dual 12 box or a nice d4s dual box. Let's get them likes and comments up to help him out on that

On music, id say 20+ hours before its fully/nearly fully broken in. On a test tone, maybe 8 hours will soften it pretty good
