This songs give me chills for many reasons! My husband has served two combat tours overseas with the Marines before we met. And he now is in the Army. So that freedom part gets to me. And we are Georgia born and bred but the Army so lovely sent us to Washington state and we couldn’t run outta there fast enough after 3 years!! Southern hospitality is a real thing and where we belong for sure.

As a United States Navy Veteran who lost some friends/battle buddies along the way, the real truth is Freedom isnt Free.
But not a single veteran in our ranks, living or passed, would ever tell you they regret providing that freedom.

Georgia is famous for their peaches. From what I have heard they are bigger and sweeter than anywhere else. And the pretty women are referred to as Georgia peaches. If you want some fiddle, look for Doug Kershaw (aka- The Ragin' Cajun). He is a vibe that will possess your feet and your soul. Nothin' like Cajun music!

I used to call all the Delta stewardesses out of Atlanta Georgia Peaches and every one immediately smiled and laughed and was so friendly. Apparently you can be an old sexist if you say it in Canadian and mean it as a total compliment lol.

Its an awesome song 🤘🤘 as a northern, Southerner 😂 I'm from New England. Ive always felt i was born in the wrong part of the country. Zac brown band is friggin awesome. My favorite song from them though is, highway 20 ride. Used to sing that to my son every time i picked him up from his mom when he was younger. He's 16 now 😂

Check out Camp Southern Ground that’s right here in Georgia. In 2011, with the belief that his musical talent was given for the purpose of putting more good into the world, Zac purchased 400 acres of farmland in Fayetteville, Georgia and built Camp Southern Ground, a world-class facility dedicated to serving youth and veterans. During the summer they have youth camp, with the remainder of the year being focused on helping veterans in the transition to civilian life after military service.
I did not know they had done that even though I've been a fan of ZBB forever. That is so cool!
Sweet Brit, you are delightful. Saw Zac Brown at Merlefest here in NC, back in my younger days. The band was new and the name not recognized but baby, they brought everybody to their feet and they were dancing and clapping and shouting and singing! I may even have seen a ‘church cloth’! Colorado has the best peaches, Palisade peaches are renowned. Also Olathe sweet corn. The hot days and cool nights are what makes them so sweet. We also have several vineyards and wineries on the western slopes of Colorado.💜
Peaches are just over the border in SC. Edgefield, Johnston, both just North of North Augusta. Peach capitol of the world.
You need more fiddle in your life! A fiddle and violin are technically the same instrument, but the style of playing mostly determines what you call it. Another great song to check out is “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” by The Charlie Daniels Band.
and if i may add an obseration the part of the fiddle playing that britt reacted to was an little closer to violin technique before reverting back to fiddle style. I suspect some classical training. made for an interesting counterpoint that was an nice touch

As far as peaches go…. I lived in Lexington, SC (just outside Columbia) for a bit and we had a peach festival every year because they are so prominent there

South Carolina peaches are grown in Gaffney SC and they are some of the best in the country. There is even a peach shaped water tower close to the interstate near Gaffney.

From another Georgia girl. Georgia is known for their peaches, but so is South Carolina. Both if my grandfathers ran produce companies in Florida before I was ever born and they got their peaches and tomatoes from South Carolina.

Zac Brown Band - "Colder Weather" is an amazing ballad. I like "Knee Deep" and "Toes" for the Southern Coast sound and feel. Both are very Kenny Chesney/Jimmy Buffet in feel.
A lot of peaches are grown here in upstate South Carolina. Who here has seen the millon gallon peach water tank on the side of interstate 85.

You are correct. South Carolina harvests three times more peaches than Georgia.

Girlfriend, I did not know you were from Georgia, I loved you before, but now I love you even more! I'm in Greenville, South Carolina, and yes ma'am we grow more peaches than Georgia does! Gaffney, SC, about 30 minutes up I-85,, has a huge peach, It's a watertower, so yes ma'am, we even grow them here in the upstate! Keep doing what u do! God Bless!

By the way, there is actually a physical difference between a violin and a fiddle. A violin has gut strings that give it the classical rich sound we all love to hear in an orchestra. 🙂 A fiddle in country and bluegrass music has steel strings that give it a sharper sound and add some twang to the music to match the voices. 😂👍🏼
