Baking sugar cookies is a very specific cultural practice that does not occur in every household. So this cannot be common sense especially worldwide.
@@RG_Rizzy correct, but the use of ginger in sugar cookies is not always obvious because as the name suggests, "sugar cookies". some people don't like ginger, some people may not want to use ginger. the person replying was only trying to be helpful by saying "i found the recipe here, but just to warn you it does have ginger, so if you didn't want that i suppose just remove that step from the recipe and follow it that way". i really don't understand why this was made into such a big issue when the person you were responding to was only trying to be helpful.

They're literally the only thing you can buy on this side of the pond (digestives, custard creams, Leibniz, etc), unless you specifically go for American style ones.
I have been tired mentally for the past few years, and recently things have been getting a bit better so I decided to look into new hobbies again, and this channel inspired me to start baking! My grandma used to always slightly burn sugar cookies on purpose bc she liked them better that way. So when I make sugar cookies I leave a few in the oven a lot longer. It’s really good

First one is my absolute favourite. Those cookies they sell around Christmas time woth all the icing on it are freaking delicious, despite feeling so bad.
My tip for most cookies is that once you can smell them they're ready, if you like a crunchy cookie you can leave them in for another five minutes after you start smelling them

Crispy is always my go-to. The best of both worlds; slightly crunchy, warm & chewy middle. Especially when it comes to chocolate chip cookies 😋
I definitely prefer mine on the crunchy. I also prefer to use dark brown sugar rather than light brown in any cookie recipe, it just tastes better.
If you don't have have dark brown, you can just add some mollases.
