- See the action on Aurizon's narrow gauge 236km Newlands System, stetching southwards from the Abbot Point export terminal to North Goonyella Junction. Bowen Rail, the system's newest operator, now has three coal sets running - featuring Progress/EMD's latest 4,600hp GT46CU-ACe Gen 3 locomotives, while Aurizon and PN continue to field fleets of 4000, 4100 and 83 class GT42CU-AC and GT42CU-ACe 3,000hp models.

Cool thanks mate
Very well shot and well edited video. 👍 Also I’m really surprised because so many 4100s have kept their Eagle livery, but with the Redbank overalls I think that will change soon.😫
Thankyou :-) Many of the 4000s are still in their 20-23 year old Bronco paint, but there's quite a few 4000s and 4100s getting around in Aurizon yellow now.
Awesome video work specially the Bowen Rail clips you are making me so envy I want to come up and video the system all in all very impressive work have to catch up.

What's the best place to find info of the Queensland rail system?
It depends on what you're looking for. A Google Search for QR or Aurizon "System Information packs" will provide you with details for QR mainlines and branches, and Aurizon mainlines and branches. There's close to a dozen Facebook groups specialising in Queensland freight and passenger operations, and 2ft gauge cane railways. "Railpage" is also another good web based forum to find information on QR and Queensland railway operations. QR, Aurizon, ARTC, Wilmar, Rio Tinto, Mackay Sugar, Bundaberg Sugar, MSF Sugar, Tully, Mossman and Isis Mills all have substantial or high tonnage rail networks in Queensland of standard, 3ft6 and 2ft gauge.
Last 13 wagons empty?🤔
The last several were empty on the Aurizon coalie going up the Briaba bank too.

Really wow
I'm not a fan of the horn
its just part of the policy, as drivers we have to sound the horn and receive an acknowledgement if we notice anyone in the corridor
