i was thinking why did crowley say “somebody killed my best friend”, when aziraphale would just have to get a new body, he wasn’t truly dead, but then i realised he could be killed by hellfire. and because crowley didn’t get hurt when running into the bookshop, he probably thought hell got his angel before him and *burned* him.
Yeah, because in 6000 years nothing like this has ever happened. Crowley always was able to find Aziraplale if he needed, but not in that moment. I think he was pretty scared by all of this)
I think part of the complication is that they're days away from the apocalypse. Getting discorporated could literally be the thing that keeps them from ever seeing each other again, we see that nearly happen. But, like, explaining all that is hard. Easier to say "someone killed my best friend" which isn't exactly incorrect as someone sure sent him to heaven, and contains within it all the appropriate expressions of grief and confusion and anger and fear.

They couldn’t even do enough research to figure out what streaming service it was on. I’m Christian and I absolutely adore both the show and the book. The Crowley and Aziraphale romance is so charming and sweet.
