Considering they funded this project, I should hope so! I have to admit, it took the show to make me recognize some of the book references ('Wait, that 'nightingale in Berkeley Square' thing is a love song? I must re-read this immediately!'). But I think even book readers who didn't see them as a couple, per se, would have been confused if there was a sequel that involved anything other than the two of them bickering, drinking wine, and eating crepes for the rest of eternity, or at least until earth needs saving again. ("Huh? Crowley got a girlfriend? That doesn't seem right...")

I cannot get enough of these actors, by far my all time faves. I met David Tennant when I was around 7 as they were filming for Doctor Who near my house and he was so so nice to me, I was waiting nearby with some paper and a pen hoping to get an autograph and he almost skipped over during a quick cut and signed my paper and gave me a quick hug before running back. I'll never forget that. And Michael is just an absolute sweetheart, my friend worked in a big department shop in Cardiff and Michael walked in one day, my friend wore a little badge that said "I speak Welsh" so Michael beelined it to him. My friend walked around the shop with Michael and his partner speaking Welsh and they weren't even talking about products or anything, Michael just wanted a chat. Honestly the nicest guys ever

I actually think they're much closer on the morality spectrum than you (the description) give them credit for. The whole point of the show is that neither of them is as good or bad as they are supposed to be. They're morally gray people, even if as angel and demon they're 'supposed' to be black and white.

Just - the fact that Aziraphael is always on Crowley's right side, all the time, in every shot (on camera, he's therefore on the left side, but it's Crowley's right - with very few exceptions) just makes me so happy. It also makes the scene stand out so much more where they switched bodies, because they're still sitting on their respective sides on the bench, even though they're in the other person's body. The amount of details and symbolisms and metaphors in this series is amazing! Every time I rewatch it, I spot another tiny detail. Sometimes it's the choice of words (like Crowley's "deep down" vs Zira's "at heart" in that final scene), or just the fact that Zira's wings open high up and move downwards, whereas Crowley's move upwards ... So amazing!
