I've only opened 1 booster box of battle styles and I got lucky to get that alt art Tyranitar, never needed to open this set again.
i did this too but i didnt realize the worth of it and got scammed by my friend
The sleeping Ttar is awesome itâs hard to pull from one of the boxes but they are cheap so itâs not that bad
Tyranitar v alt art is cheaper than the box
Sleepy Tyranitar is the only reason to open this set. At this point just buy the single lol

Imo the full art Emploeon, Tyranitar and the gold Houndoom are better pulls. The sleeping Tyranitar is another overrated card just like the alt art Umbreon...

Opened an Obsidian Flames booster box the other day. Such a good set that doesnât get the love it deserves.
I think it will break out like XY evolution. Itâs pretty cheap for a booster box so Iâd suggest buying as much as you can

I got back into opening packs yesterday. Bought lost origin booster and ETB. Ended up pulling the Giratina alt art and the Pikachu VMax!
Alt arts are by far my favorite pokemon cards, and that Tyranitar is one of my favorite alt arts in the sword and shield era

I usually like all sets as I just enjoy seeing the art on the cards, so it was just nice seeing this older set and seeing you try to pull something good.
Fun fact, I pulled the sleeping TTAR from a single blister from Walmart when I was going back through my old cards and buying new sleeves and stuff to protect them. Graded it a PSA 10.
For sun and moon it was crimson invasion. I laughed during Covid at the scalpers buying out all the etbs of it at walmart

One thing that I hate about single and multi hit cards is that they should all be in one set like battle styles. That Blaziken alt art would've benefitted
Hard to believe this set came out 3 years ago. I actually pulled the T-Tar alt from a collection box I snagged off ebay.

If only the pulls rates werenât so hard, the artworks in this set are truly incredible.
Example of set that you try 1, maybe 2 boxes then just buy the singles
I'm really torn between buying this BB for 115 usd or use that money to buy Japanese booster box.
The amount of times I pulled a dupe of gold single strike energy drove me insane đ
I remember how cheap these were. Around 80 bucks and Chilling Reign was around 88. Wish I would have grabbed a few.
Even with though it's one of the lesser SwSh sets, I still enjoyed opening it here and there.
For Scarlet and Violet, itâs definitely base set thus far. It has some cool pulls but the set has the lowest overall value of any S/V set if I had to guess and it has been like that since it came out.
If you count base sets, scarlet violet base is CHEEEEKS. Top hit current at $27ish. You could buy the top 10 hits for less than a booster
Literally just made a video preaching how undervalued this set is and how I went full throttle into buying cases of it just because someone needed to! Thank you for making this video highlighting such a slept on set that not only has great value but can still be fun to open unlike its sister brother sets, SwSh Base and Rebel Clash (which cost way more) . I have a feeling this video is about to make BS explode⊠đ đ
I remember open wing battle styles; luckily I did get two alt art cards; not the tyranitar thou .
I like the set of battle styles a lot, the problem is it was impossible to pull anything, and then the cards lost all their value. I still remember when alt art urshifu vmax rapid strike was like $250.

Underrated set imo! Not only the tyranitar but the rest of the alt arts are cool too! I would have thought the base set or darkness Ablaze would have been the cheapest!
i recently opened battle styles for the first time for the purpose of pulling the ttar and got it half way through my first booster box lmao peak luck, never touching that set again
This is not the worst set at all from S & S, Rebel Clash holds like the first 3 spots by itself! And Base set and Darkness Ablaze were also worse!
The dummy Set in Scarlet Violet will for sure be Obsidian Flames. If you don't get a Charizard you're absolutely screwed. Terrible set but it will keep its value because it's got a big Zard and it's relatively easy to pull.

Honestly imo Battle Styles as way better than Darkness Ablaze and Rebel clash. At least those two. Ill take alt art chase cards over rainbows any day.
Since I found ur channel, I've been looking for booster boxs and what kind of set to buy.
I've opened a few of the boosters and didn't pull 1 alt art.
Never pulled the T Tar alt before but I pulled the Empoleon from a random blister.

No bs I bought and opened one battle styles booster box and pulled the t tar and I didnât even realize until I learned more about the set how good of a pull it was I love that card

I saw a scarlet & violet base set box on ebay today for 76$ and the seller had 100% positive reviews so apparently it's legit...pretty tempted to snag one or two of em đ
I feel like obsidian flames is gonna be that set for the scarlet and violet era
At least there are alt arts! I also love the E4 trainers, not the worst set IMO, would rather open BS than most SV era stuff
Somehow got a RR from a random pack of this set when it was originally out, that set was deceent
They've made it too easy to get cool cards. Back then, it was more challenging, so that when you did come across one, it was such a surprise. I love this set, because I did get very lucky with it. The Necrozma V full art card was one of the ones that I really wanted, and I got to pull it. I remember being so amazed to see it in person. :)

That tyranitar cars is really sick but the pull rate on that set its extremly sad
This set seems pretty good, just overshadowed by follow-on sets to make it seem worse than it is.
that Ttar is so beautiful. I remember opening a case of this and the very last pack was the Alt Art Rapid Strike Ursh vmax, such a rush back then.

Battle styles is decent, if only it had better pull rates. That empoleon and both urshifus are niceee

Battle styles was never my favorite set but it was out when I got back into collecting after a while. Good memories even if the set wasnât anything special imo lol.

It's bad but definitely not deserving of being the least expensive sw/sh set for sure (Looking at you, darkness ablaze)
I mean Iâd say vivid voltage is pretty trash too. The occasional amazing rare saved it. Whenever the big hits are non popular Pokemon (battle styles) people tend to hate on it more. But yeah darkness ablaze is probably the worst charizard centric set of the SWSH era and now obsidian flames for SV.
Battle Styles is under appreciated! My favorite card has to be the Empoleon alternate art!
You should collect all the Mr. Mine variants and throw them in a fire at the end of the year.
