Thanks Asagi for having me and for researching such interesting things from Japan! I am still internally screaming from the escalator! 😆 💓
Loving the collaboration 😍
Your reaction was golden. I was like why this escalator exists.
I feel you!! I think such a thing hits us Germans extra hard. A stair in front of an escalator is so inefficient!
@Mike West I would eat horse meat in a heartbeat
I'm new here thanks to Cathy...nice to meet you Asagi. :)
LOL. This was pretty funny and disturbing (raw horse meat vending machine). The escalator was hilarious especially when you realize after the camera pulled back that there are 4 steps leading up to it. Indeed only in Japan. Funny stuff Asagi and so glad you are collaborating with other YT'bers. Keep going !!
This is a very positive video! Brilliant perspectives, expression, and interactional chemistry. It made me happy and i learned a lot!
Glad you enjoyed the video ☺️
@@AsagisLifeNoBSJapan My cousin has been teaching in Japan for almost 6 years now, and between me and him, our whole lives, have loved learning about the reality of Japanese Culture! Thank you so much for offering all you have to teach and for creating such connectable videos. ^.^
very enjoyable, a nice collaboration with Cathy and Asagi san
Glad you enjoyed the video ☺️
I think what she is searching for at 7:04 is the word "originally". I speak English (mostly 🤣) and struggle sometimes to come up with the right word quickly! Great collaboration. More please! Oh, and "mounting girls" meant something entirely different to me also, ha ha! 😏
🤣🤣🤣🤣
As intriguing as that solo yakiniku place sounds ..I suck at cooking, so I need someone to grill my meat for me lmao.
Haha, I feel you Xiao 🤣
This is great. You folks should collaborate often.
I hope you two do more of these collabs. You make a fun team.
*Cathy Cat or Chatty Cat?*
Do not Deutsche have the reputation for being silent types devoid of emotion? Her English accent sounds as if she learned English from an Irishman, at least some of her vowels production.
Thanks for the insights Asagi! This was fun to watch, especially learning about the useless escalator. The Nihonjin have a reputation of being practical, efficient people, at least in the USA. Maybe shooting a video debunking that myth might be amusing and entertaining. Certainly, that would fall into a no b.s. Japan theme. It would be fun to see all of the impractical and goofy things Japanese do, which they might not be aware of themselves doing such.
She went to Uni in the UK, that's what's influenced her accent.
also germanic language speakers don't really have much of an accent
First!! Excited to see a collab with Cathy Cat!!
I'm loving this collab! Yes!
Very insightful and entertaining ASAGI, the two of you should do a small series of visits to places of interest.
Cathy having less than wholesome thoughts about "MOUNTING GIRLS".... NAUGHTY KITTY
Awesome video!!!
Cathy Cat is Great. She is so Easy going and Light hearted as well as Witty. Very nice collab Asagi.
Wow, "mounting girls" in the US can have a very different context then in Japan lol
I know right 🤭
5:47
Well, that escalated quickly.
Poor Asagi. In order to meet the cruel demands of fashion, she must walk around with one shoulder chillier than the other. :p
🤣🤣🤣
A great collaboration Asagi!
Nice collab video!
I’ve experienced a few of those short escalators when I was in Japan in 2016. Mostly at train stations. I was happy with them, because I had quite heavy luggage with me.
Mounting girls and short escalators! Only in Japan! Great collaboration.
Love seeing you both!
Nice collab Asagi and Cathy! A lot of thought went into picking out the curiosities and it was very interesting. The horse meat vending machine got to me the most. 😭
The isolated work spaces and resturaunt booths is fascinating, especially for a more “community minded” culture. Despite community emphasis, it seems like Japanese still value privacy. In the US, it is opposite: very individualist, but privacy isn’t respected hardly at all.
Looking forward to a mounting girls video. 😆😉
Awesome, Asagi and awesome that both you did video too. Love collaboration you two did here. Kiwotsukete Kudasai to both of you two
Yeah after phone booth went out they keep some of the older booths as personal work space. It's nice the idea is still around.
I don’t think it’s a big deal in America to go to a restaurant by yourself. Like I don’t think anyone else in the restaurant cares. But I do think most people who go by themselves feel awkward.
So it might be a business chance to open a solo style restaurant in America? Lol
Travel Lucky Bags remind me of "Mystery Flights" you could get in Australia. You bought a mystery flight and you didn't know the destination until you got to the airport. I think they did it to fill up empty seats on flights, it was a real lottery. But before I could afford to travel (talking 1990s here).
Great Collaboration Video!!!
Thanks 😊
It's good to see you working with friends.
Oh man...this is excited interview here...real great things i love that
came here from Yuta's channel.. good stuff!
Where I live in the US there are a lot of Korean BBQ restaurants which are like Japanese yakiniku restaurants. That yakiniku restaurant for individuals would be good for me whenever I travel to Japan as most likely I would be by myself.
Wow every time I watch one of your videos or cathy cats videos I am learing so many new thing starting to make a long list of things I want to see when I get to visit there.
3:17 I’ve been to one near the Yokosuka prefecture. I called it Tiger restaurant because all I understood at the time was was the particle “no” and the kanji for tiger. I had a small plate of beef that was marinaded in their sauce with garnishes on the side.
I knew how long to wait because I’m good at cooking. So, it came out perfectly flavorful. I also caught a man whom I thought to be sumo on a date with a very charming woman(I didn’t ask because one I didn’t know how at the time and two it would have been rude).
But yeah, I concur that this type of restaurant doesn’t really exists outside of Japan.
Yay collab
The world's shortest escalator in Kawasaki Moores (just round to corner from me) is that way because of the bubble. They planned proper escalators, started working on them, and then the financial market collapsed. Corners were cut and the world's shortest escalator was the result.
Wow. Thank you!
The world's shortest escalator? That's pretty surprising and rare to see.
In Hong Kong, there is a pair of escalators which are also rare to be found, which are operated in counter/anti clockwise, half circle from each side. 💫
The genderless school uniforms are exactly like what uniforms had evolved to in the 90s in the UK. There's a funny story about the skirts: there's a school with a completely genderless uniform policy with a choice of trousers or skirts. Boys started complaining that they had to wear trousers in summer while girls could stay cool in a skirt, until the one boy realised that they didn't have to wear trousers... The uniform policy only specified what items of uniform must be worn but not by who so a group of boys started wearing the uniform skirt to school to protest at the lack of an option to wear shorts.
A little late watching and commenting, but usually people who want to eat by themselves will go in a coffee shop sometimes for hours at a time. Or maybe a bar. I do notice where I live in the states if someone comes into a restaurant by themselves they will usually go to the bar top or a small table on their lunch break. I worked in restaurants for years and unless its for those reasons a lot of people will find it weird if you eat by yourself. I don't really care what other's do, but I personally for this reason feel more comfortable by myself at a coffee shop rather than a restaurant. I also know server's complain if its a single person especially for a long time because they make less money. Sorry long explanation! Also I found the rest of this video really interesting! I really like your collaborations with cathy cat 🙃
Good video Aragi
I live for this collaboration
Fort Worth Texas had one of the largest horse meat processing plants in the United States. Funny because Texas law forbids the sale, possession, transport and export of horse meat for human consumption.
Japan also has the steepest bridge. It is called Eschima Ohashi bridge. I saw it when I was taking train to mall. I was so sad it was too far to walk from the train station 😢.
nice collab
When I heard "mount joshi" I thought: Oh, so instead of president's faces they are now hammering idol's faces into the mountain?
That was cool.
A collaboration with you 2 discussing a topic (fashion/Movies/Rock Stars) where Asagi is a guest on JAPAN Railway Journal. Travel the country side.
Dream!
Really liked the cross over.
Small world. Everybody knows everybody. Much love towards you guys❤️💋🙂. Have a superb day.
There are solo BBQ restaurant and six step escalator in Sydney Australia
Uniqlo Amsterdam had the shortest escalator
Here on your channel after a long time couldn't recognise you after you have straightened your hair and no longer your old style 😀 well i like this and I mostly like the old style ngl
I've noticed that the current word to use, when bragging about yourself, is "flexing", especially among young people..
It may be short but it should go 100kph to make up for it ;)
Cathy how can you be surprised by raw meat as a german? Did you forget about Mettbrötchen :P
Why when Cathy & Asagi were talking about genderless uniforms did I immediately here the jojo golden wind music in my head?? 😂😂
Asagis outfit 💛
I never thought of mounting as being a term for bragging or showing off. I thought they were going to review the Uma Musume Pretty Derby anime when I heard mounting girls. Lol
Yeah it's a weird wording lol
Central Asia (Kazakstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgistan) eat horse meat but it is cooked.
うまさしうまっ!
最高です
So lucky bag is sort of like Black Friday in the US and certain European countries. Interesting
Sort of.
Harajuku has the poop ice cream which is pretty popular among the instagram crowd…
That's some poop fascination right there...
Now where you talk about it, it's kind of funny, because over the half of all japanese twitch streamers which I follow have an own cute poop emote
When I first new about this program I thought what a bore. However it turned out to be very interesting
Nice collab together. You both look gorgeous. What are you wearing Asagi? Are you wearing shiny leggings or something?
Wow your famous now 😎😎
Hahaha
So gorgeous both of you'll.
Great content as always. Asagi-san,I have a question for you. I often see a phrase that is Google translated as " I am going to the middle of the day " At least in Texas, we have no equivalent saying. Can you please help me to comprehend the meaning? Thanks in advance.
Raw horse meat just doesn't seem right to me. But I prefer steak cooked medium or sometimes medium-rare.
Understandable.
Ask Japanese sent me here
Welcome to my channel 🥳
@Asagi’s Life (No BS Japan) It would be tough to accept comments in Japan. I’ve learned that the best response while in Japan is something like “Thank You, but….”😂
come on cathy horse meat was sold in shops in germany in the 1960,s i know my then wife served it to me for dinner
I eat by myself all the time
Ohayo
Mallrats fans: get your kids off the escalator!
Never wore a school uniform
Pass on the poo museum. Das siet sehr schmutzig aus! Or "Jak! Echt vies!" As we say in Dutch. I just want my nerdy Anime and Manga Otaku stuff.
Americans believe that eating horse is nasty.
Asagi you look so beautiful. 🌹🌹🌹
Horse meat is medicine
Nice to see you two doing a video together! I watch both of you separately, so it's fun to see you in the same video.
And yes, it seems like most Japanese women do not like to talk about their personal lives much. Recently, a female musician in a band I really like, announced her marriage and childbirth. And that is literally all she said about it! No details. Of course, her devoted fans want to know if her baby was a boy or a girl, and what name she picked out for her child. It would be nice to see a photo of her baby too. We just want to celebrate with her, we are very happy for her. She did receive lots of love and congratulations on her social media, which was very nice. But it would be nice to know if she had a baby boy or girl. Maybe in the near future, she will tell us a little more.
Hey there,
You are doing great stuff
But
Listen
Your people are extremely *Rude* and *Arrogant*
Specially toward the *Foreigners*
That's why they never get any kind of attention from others...
I think you need to think on your *Social Skills* and understanding other *Cultures* rather than introducing your *Peculiar* language...
