This is really well done.
props to nzxt honestly, this is probably going to get ALOT of people into PC gaming, and the custom pc space
23:58 The manual does warn you that the IO shield is sharp.
NZXT should have called it the BLDIY. Build it yourself.
Shout out RayJay
You know, when we say PC building is like LEGOs for grownups, I didn't expect anyone would take it quite literally to even make child-friendly assembly manual for it.
legos are legos for grown ups.
@@angryparrot9433 legos are legos for emos who want to die by stepping on a Lego
When he first opened that big instruction manual i half expected pop ups in the book.....look at Moe dance! Im sorry its just such a cute book
EDIT: if anyone knows where i can download a PDF of this manual id be grateful
This is a great gift to a tech inclined child! I would've loved this as a kid, given that I was already fiddling with hardware during that age.
and nzxt nailed it
props to nzxt honestly, this is probably going to get ALOT of people into PC gaming, and the custom pc space
I'll give them credit where it's due
They may make riser cables that catch fire, and then lie about the replacement they were sending people
But this is legitimately a great thing they've done here
If only it wasnt the saame price as buying the exact machine as a pre built. I'm not saying it should be MSRP but I would hope it would be a little cheaper.
@@dawsonswain7233 I can get behind this. The only reason it doesn't bug me AS much, is because at least I'm not paying them that money to mess up building my PC for me
I trust myself to do it right the first time. The worst is when you pay them that money, and you end up having to tear the prebuilt apart yourself to fix an issue
@@Spideryote ur better off buying parts urself u save more money and get good deals on parts except gpus
@@capsikseason You're right, but this isn't something for people who have the knowledge to do so already
This is for people who want to ensure their products are compatible out of the box for an easy first time building experience
As a technical writer and someone familiar with book printing, NZXT have gone above and beyond with this manual. Just the fact that all of it is printed in color says a lot. All the extra illustrations that are just there to make you feel better about your experience are also great even though they could have easily skipped those to save money and no one would have complained. Now that they have this, they can easily use it as a base and make manuals for other builds much quicker or just make it a bit more general and sell it as a manual for how to build any PC. Of course, they'll probably keep it exclusive to their kits since that's a clear competitive advantage. Awesome stuff!
As another tech writer, I concur. (Now I'll nervously reread my comment for errors 😅)
What I love about this “build kit” system is the fact that you get everything you need to build a pc, an insane manual, 24/7 customer support, windows 10 and a 2-year warranty, and an affordable gpu with everything else compatible ($3-400 to build it yourself right now rather than buy the kit)
I’d love to see them keep this system because it helps people like me who don’t know that much about building a pc or how to install anything.
Yes this book is well done and just so adorable.....i half expected popups lol.....look at Moe dance! im sorry, it really is the most user friendly manual ive ever seen
Just that this wasn't written by a Chinese google translate service makes this impressive!
Update; I tried to order it multiple times and the order would go through, but got canceled for some reason. I tried everything to get it to work but eventually gave up. I ordered a pc from build redux instead.
(Yes I am very sad)
Thank god NZXT came out with this as I was still using the Verge guide to build pc’s.
Gpu market going back to last year prices would be refreshing
good thing not many people used the Verge guide, else we would have thermal paste shortage as well
Verge is bad example.
Oh no

That it does. Good catch!
when building my first pc I gashed my entire thumb with the damn IO shield I was pissed haha

I'd love to see Lyle attempt one of these build guides. Of course, he doesn't need it, but just for demonstration purposes :)
Don't rEad my name__````.
Jay two cents done it also.
Jayz2 did it with a friend who isn't super familiar and it went well.
Dawid does Tech Stuff did a build with his wife, which went well on almost all accounts.
This is really well done. Would've loved one of these back when I got started learning through trial and (mostly) error
i am just building my 1st pc soon got the torrnt pc case and getting the dark hero mb with 5900x and a 3080 i really hope i can do it tbh
Really appreciate NZXT putting out this kind of product. It's brilliant and encourages people to do it themselves which doesn't necessarily benefit NZXT in the long run. It's pro-consumer and makes me want to buy their products more.
NZXT should have called it the BLDIY. Build it yourself.
Wit
That is actually a very good name/catchy marketing phrase.
You do marketing?
this build guide thing NZXT is doing is very refreshing to the PC space.
This is the handbook NZXT give to new employees for their first builds ;o)
really? thats dope
@@yonisabdi2814 No Idea, hence the winky lol
Your channel on the guide to building the PC has really helped me, was able to build my self a decent pc that can handle a lot of things, really appreciate it....
Hey Kyle, in the video walkthrough NZXT made, for the cpu installation they actually do tell you to move the motherboard arm sideways to lift it up
I don't need that manual or tutorials, or even Bitwit videos. I hear that the Verge has an excellent demonstration on how to build a PC, Lyle enjoyed watching it.
Yoooooo I love Bitwit been watching the channel for years. Keep up the great content!!!!
I’m really impressed with the book! All the illustrations are amazing and they explained every step that’s easy to understand for everyone. Well done NZXT!
Just seeing that manual straight out of the box, I'm reminded of lego kits. So, Lego for PC builders?
PC building is considered adult Legos.
Great video :D Really enjoying the way NZXT went with their BLD Kit.
This is actually brilliant and so well made! This & your video all in one is going to help me so much with building my pc.
That guide is very thorough, props to NZXT for doing that for someone that’s building a pc for the first time.
I was really impressed with this, back when I did my first build I bought a couple of books and they were nowhere near as good as this one. That was years ago, perhaps there are better books out there nowadays, but it would be cool if NZXT would sell the book on amazon for a reasonable price.
This is a great all-in-one kit for a first time builder. Reminds me of the barebone systems you could get, but this is even easier because you can get all of the components under one brand. The step-by-step guide with visuals is a very nice addition. This kit also makes RMA requests easier too since you only have to deal with one merchant. And of course the ability to get a GPU at a reasonable price without getting gouged.
I used to use twist ties on cable management. I don't anymore because after a few years the plastic sheath dries then exposes the metal wire, introducing a potential short hazard.
These were the exact specs i was looking at, once i saw you unbox it i immediately purchased it. now im a happy gamer
This would have made a perfect "Lyle" video.
@@johnfran3218 STFU from the Book of STFU.
I know the price of this is pretty expensive, but still, this is a great kit for those that want to learn but are too scared to try to build their own PC. Plus, you have one contact for warranty issues: NZXT. So that's probably worth the price of admission whereas those of us that build using hand-picked parts from Microcenter, NewEgg, etc, we are at the mercy of each part's manufacturer. So bravo to NXZT for this kit.
It sucks not choosing the stuff you really want like faster ram or better gpu. But getting the gpu way closer to msrp and actually getting a rtx 3000 series is worth it
I ordered one of these after watching jay have someone build it. Super excited
Don't know why I'm watching but i did buy my son an nzxt pre build (streaming plus pc) for Christmas which he loves. Just wanted to say you have a good presence on video, explaining everything clearly. Not sure I'll ever need this advice but just wanted to sayreally good video.
Sweet way for a first timer to learn, this is great. Thank you.
this is something we in sweden has had for years nice to see other brands branching out and doing this
IKEA for the win! 👏
Love this build guide video!
I think this is a good concept of NZXT, you bought a prebuilt pc but u have to assemble it and with that u can also learn how to build one! a good learning experience! This is quite brilliant
It's a great idea and well done. Also, if you browse to one of the options they have available you can download the whole guide as a pdf - which is really nice, you can read through it and see if you feel like you can follow it before you purchase.
5:50 I almost had a heart attack with the way he pulled that GPU out of the box
You should make a bios tutorial video including drivers and over clocking. Stuff like that.
The thing that would make this the best and prolly outsell every pre-built is you can customize parts u wants gpu cpu motherboard
They did a great job on the guide, and the system overall seems like a decent value.
You could probably get better prices if you shopped around, but given the convenience factor of a one stop shop, I'd say it's decent.
14:00 fun fact: this year i built my first pc... one of the first thing that happened was that i dropped my cpu xD it had 7-8 bent pins which i straightened up, sweating like crazy and mad af at myself with tweezers and a sewing needle from my mom. It worked and my pc is up and running, but honestly... it still freaks me out to this day xD
Damn man that'd be sketchy asf, I'd be so pissed off. Good for sticking with it and persevering to fix the pins.
@@sj-red Even tho it was painfully stressful, it came with a feel of proud to accomplish something like that haha
@@xXPazifistaXx Of course man, I built my first pc in September 2020 (luckily before the whole GPU shortage). Didn't bend any pins fortunately but it certainly feels good when it all comes together 😀
I bent some pins on the USB 3 front panel header on my board in my build. That was a sweaty moment for me too
@@abeeinspace yh lol least it ain't no CPU but I can imagine 😂
I saw this yesterday and it is just perfect for me(in theory) I am from a country where DIY pc parts are few and far between and stores that does have pc parts they are all outdated e.g gtx 1050's and AMD FX cpu's Having all components in on box and having to deal with only 1 company for warranty is beautiful and it would be simple to ship, this is exactly what the market need right now...GG nzxt
P.S love the vids kyle,be good my dude
I built my first PC without any BLD guides like this. I had to figure it out with the manufacturer manuals and calling them up. Now I am a pro at it.
With step by step instructions maybe Kyle won’t brick anything 🌚
Love you Kyle! You & Jay made me get into PC gaming now I’m the person family and friends talk to about PC stuff
Well Done NZXT! It would be wonderful if other pc companies use a similar model as this.
Back in the '60s there were Heath kits! A build it yourself color TV. It required that you have an oscilloscope and a soldering gun.
Omg I remember those Heath kits! Wow, what a blast from the past. Thanks! I was just a wee one in the 1960s, but I remember my dad getting those delivered and building stuff. He was an electrician and he used those kits to teach me stuff. 🙂
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the book they've added. I wish we all could get more tangible items like that. Could you imagine them having "Computer History as a book (for example) in that art style.
Watching your videos is so good and interesting so many builds me as a console person that’s tryna move to pc this year it’s hard to find gpu’s for a good price and they probably won’t move down in price for months or years for my first ever pc I’ll find one eventually
Props to NZXT for being intelligent enough, and respectful enough to their customers, to hire a proper technical writer to prepare an actual assembly guide.
Pretty legit manual honestly. I think this would be perfect for anyone new and especially as a tool for a youngster doing their own first solo build.
i love your restraint when you had to say the H510 was only a mid tower case and nothing else.
My mom bought me this Tuesday. It’s coming next Tuesday but won’t be getting on until christmas lol. Can’t wait tho. Never played on a gaming pc before
Dang this looks so freaking awesome!
This is really well done.
As someone with an incredibly outdated PC, and as someone that's been considering buying a prebuilt from NZXT, I love that they've come out with this. I've never built a PC myself before because it's always seemed so intimidating. Being responsible for building my own rig sounds terrifying. But honestly, as cringe as the whole treasure hunt adventure may be to some, seeing the way they've laid out the guidebook has definitely made it seem more lighthearted and fun.
Plus the anxiety of having a prebuilt being damaged during shipping is essentially gone. So I'm definitely considering biting the bullet and buying this at some point.
As someone who's built several PCs over the years, I can assure you that it is NOT as hard as you think it is. This is DEFINITELY something you can do. Expect to spend about an afternoon working on it. If you buy this kit and use a little bit of common sense, you'll have absolutely no problem. I love the way the book is laid out and while I agree with most of his minor criticisms, they are in fact minor. You should have no trouble at all putting that thing together. You CAN do it!
cant wait for my bld kit!
Best most honest raycon ad I’ve seen
This is a good gift for maybe a 12-18 year old who wants a pc but the parents want them to learn something along the way or if they want to also want to have a project to do together with a son or daughter. I think it’s very good
Jay's video showed what the user experience would be like for someone who doesn't really know a lot about computers, but this one showed off the instructions book in a much more granular detail, even including a bit of constructive criticism. This is why we watch multiple channels.
love the kit
8:05 that motherboard has one beast of a vrm, actually the best in its price.
This is awesome I wish this existed sooner because I just helped my friend build his PC and he wanted to build his PC and not get a prebuilt but you can’t get a GPU that way. This would’ve been perfect coming with a 3060 ti
Really well done.
Awesome concept NZXT.
love watching these vids
awesome job Kyle
Wowww..love that guide book
This is what the verge pc builder needed
Lookin swole there Kyle!
Dang this is very nice kit
But I think I got a very good deal on my pre built but this actually shows you how to build it which I think is a better learning experience
I just bought this my 3rd pc first build because I always try to build one during gpu crisis’s excited I got the streaming plus with a 3070
jay talked about this a while back and its a really neat build kit theyre really nice about this
It clearly shows that Kyle is very knowledgeable in PC building, when he suggested NZXt about the potential of cutting oneself when putting the rear I/O shield. Soooh gREAt!
I was looking at prebuilts but I might go this route for my first pc
Can we all just appreciate how absolutley JACKED kyle is? Holy shit those forearms are HUGE.

Great vidski broski
LOL the plushie from the last WRKHRS3 vid is in the background!
Kyle, this is awesome. Snuggling up with a blanket and a hot cup of cocoa on a cold winter's night, while Kyle works hard building an NZXT computer for Santa tonight. 🥂🍾
I'm not sure if they will offer it independently in the future but I would imagine there would be a decent market for the manual/book alone for 1st time builders, especially for kids.
Great video Kyle and great idea to NZXT!
Was this to make up for bricking that motherboard though? Is NZXT trying to tell you something? 🤣
Glad Nzxt does this.
How Kyle handled that 3060 gives me anxiety.
This is actually a great build guide. I just need to know if I need to do anything in the bios before I boot to the os
please bring the gray Ebsemble 1 back it looked so nice love your vids
Technical writing is so much better for the average joe than 10 to 20 years ago, NZXT well done respectable price and quality. Great job Kyle, acting like you were a novice pc builder seemed to be easy HAHA! It was refreshing to watch a video of yours without you being strung out on redbull, must have been an early morning shoot.
Great vid bro.
I remember the first PC I built, the instructions that came with the motherboard were printed in this cheapass little booklet written in broken English. It was quite difficult, and if I'd been even a little bit stupider I'd have ruined the whole thing. But this? ANYONE could follow this. This is really fantastic.
27:11 got me laughing him stuttering and the. A odd cut
I wish you had more options like picking your motherboard, CPU, and ram. I know it could not be any motherboard, CPU, and ram but any that they have. It would be nice to pick your Powersupply too. There AIO or air cooler.
Great video. I'm a little late but I've never seen anyone try to maybe use a go pro mounted to maybe a headband strap for some overhead shots? Maybe not a viable option but thought I'd throw in my two cents. Hopefully it's not too bad of a suggestion or disrespectful in any way.
I would love to just a build guide book to keep. Corsair gotta do the smae
Imagine if those qr codes would lead to this channel's video walkthroughs ❤️
this kit is awesome
I was using my raycon earbuds when u talked about it
i spent 1.5k on a really good pc with a 3070 and used your guide to build it but it was an outdated guide and by the time i realized i needed a new one it was too late. please make an updated one
11:56 they have the notch pictured there in a circle. They do indeed mention it, just not with words/
I’m drooling over that gpu
Did the guide mention to do the thumbscrews on the CPU cooler by tightening them slowly in an X pattern?
Stefan need to own this
i actually only do PC cleaning and maintenance during power outages. it's the only time where i don't feel the need to rush things. :P
Corsair's self build guide's cable management page is just a ball of yarn, with a "good freaking luck" banner over it.
Wish it was a tad cheaper than the original, same price as the pre built one from their website, prolly still going to get it and build it thought So I can learn for future
