Have a line for me after the drinks
I dont work and am here chillin watching it.✌🏻🍻
Rod, your knowledge and self awareness of even birds flying over is top notch when you’ve caught a beautiful fish! 😅 This sashimi you prepared looked yummy! 🫶🏼👌🏻
❤

Sashimi is raw, not much prep other than preferred spices.
I like this mix of camping, fishing and spear fishing.
I thought you might load up on those sea urchin, I am sure you and your mate would have enjoyed those. Makes my mouth water.
Hunting. Fishing. Lovin everyday.
Dude I couldve listened to 12 hours of that rain on boat tent footage to go to sleep .
As soon as the scene opened and I heard the slapping of the water against the hull, I remembered why I love fiberglass hull designs so much! They're quiet!
Have older fibre glass boats thick and solid as but still can here that same old noise but much less obviously
Love these catch and cook, ty for the content Rod. 👍
I always enjoy the underwater segments the most. The scenery is spectacular! 🤩😁 I'm often like a driving instructor, with my foot hovering over the brake, telling you, "Be patient, be patient, the fish will present itself for the shot." 😂😂 I also love the sound of life on the reef. It's very ASMR. 😁 This vid ended rather abruptly, but I'll be back for the next one. See you then. 😊🤗💖👍👋
Holyy wow the amount of sea urchins down there when u we’re spear fishing
Yea, I’ll have to grab a few next time👍
Ahh the best word in the dictionary. “Solo”… 👍👍👍
So many sea urchins!
I thought you were frying something when the video started lol, took me a minute to realize it was rain.
Always a great start to the weekend! We gotta drill holes in the water to fish right now so I envy you in your summer outings. About another month of that to go, then we start thawing out. In the meantime I'll always tune in every Friday and see what you're up to down under. Thanks and take care out there.
Good to see the harbour is looking reasonably healthy underwater.
i miss your sailing content! please make more. have a great day. :D
I love fishing and diving combo videos! Looking forward to the next island camp out!! Thanks!
I thought The Heads looked crappy lumpy grey dangerous but yu showed us perceverance and won. It looked like yu were the only one on the harbour. Blokes down there were all home exfoliating maybe waiting for better weather, Thank yu for way good vid.
A fan of the boat set-up. Where's there's a will there's a way. Cheers!
mackies in NZ , and yakkas, yellow tail skad in aus. Is what I have heard them called. Spiky little buggers but great bait. And I have heard you can smoke the larger specimens.
Yea I’ve often thought of eating the bait. I’ve definitely done it with Slimey mackerel👌
Yet another quality video!!! What a legend!!!! from sunny South Africa 🇿🇦
Rod you need a japanese sabikki rod! Daiwa definitely makes one but also a bunch of other manufacturers... (they pull the sabiki rig inside of the rod. so you don't have to deal with it tangling)
Boat camping and fishing at its best underwater scenery epic take care Rod
Thanks for ur content Rod. Really enjoy ur stuff bud.
That wake up in the beginning looked gorgeous
Loved this video! Great job Rod!
Happy Friday! Thanks for another cool video Rod!
The bite behind the head looked like a squid kill bite. Might be why you dropped so many.
Yea one definitely had the hallmarks v behind the head… but I feel the runs on a few of the baits were a big strong to be squid, plus the squashed baits suggest kingfish… pity we couldn’t get one in to see👍
my thoughts exactly when i saw the damage on the first fish.
You should try Coal an Candle creek in the Hawkesbury River.
Looks like you’ve mastered that Roller rod👏🏻👏🏻👍
Just know Rod, that we appreciate you sharing. You have made someone from America really consider trying to emigrate to the Gold Coast. Especially with the uncertain future here...
Another great video mate....Cheers....from Durban , South Africa
Wicked, Rod! Love the channel. ♥️
Hey, good to see on again. Best
Awesome video as usual
Thanks for a great video, i feel like these vids from you are getting better and better :3
Another great vid rod !! That feed made me salivate. And what a breeding ground heeps of different species on the sabiki. Keep em coming mate look forward for the next film. Have fun with ya mate Mark down south.
I want to see more catch, cook and sushi 🤤
WOW Amazing 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
great vid .thanks!....peace out
Awesome video
lovely dish mate. God bless
It's nice to watch your videos. I wish you good hunting. Greetings from Antalya, 🇹🇷Türkiye...!
Thanks!
Thanks mate👍
Happy Friday! Having a drink while watching this, dinner in the oven. Some cute little fish caught at the beginning. One wants to stay in the boat haha Another good video 😊
Here on a thirsty Thursday here, and eating mac n cheese with diced jalapenos watching it.
Hey mate, could you add 100mm of fly screen mesh to hang over the edge of the boat and also sew in some at the end to the floor of the boat.
Great show friend ❤️👍
Ayyy finally got to a video right as it was posted 🎉
I carry one of them blow torch lighters that are the size of a bic lighter and there fantastic to have on the boat small pack away nice got to wack the fish skin with to render the fat and get them flavours weeping and bonus makes a fire easy if it's a little breeze (definitely don't leave without a trustworthy bic
I would love to see you fish the nomad squidtrex sometime love your videos
Catch and NOT cook! We love your videos. I would love to try that sashimi.
Sushi is raw amigo, no cooking required.
Tailor n bonito both go mushy when frozen i found. Both are AMAZING as sashimi fresh
Here in the states, Bonito is very fishy and oily. A lot of fun to catch especially on the fly, but most don't eat it. Great shark bait too.
Next time, Rod will have a self made mozzie net tent thingy, fix those suckers 😂
Nice!
Worth getting one of those aussie army mosquito nets.
We call em yellow tail over in WA as well. I never thought to use them as bait tho, they were just a prickly unwanted by catch
Bro you should write rain it helps with algorithms hehe I love you
Love your vids Rod. Was thinking you could us a fine mesh door at your boat tent's entrance. Stop rain and keep airflow. Stitched to the tent on one side and Velcro on the other. Roll up to store away 🤔
Hello from Beautiful British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦
Great work Rod, someone at Marks may of liked those Kina. Hope Gran is better
i like .thank you
We definitely call them yakas in Sydney mate.
It's really nice to see your vids after a hard day at work sir.. im fan from Philippines heheh keep it up sir god bless you always...
Mate on the Sydney Bonnie’s! Not sure when you were down but hit us up some time! Can show you some diving 💪🏼
Bro, just aside note with sashimi or most dishes with wasabi and soy is you mix the wasabi and soy together for an over all flavor, example.. you put the wasabi in the Kikkoman dish and stir and blend, its a bit hard when the wasabi is not fresh but yeah, i learnt thats the Japanese way :)
Nice video you little ripper !!!
Mosquitoes enjoys RoKKiT KiT while we enjoy the scenery
G'day from hervey bay, always enjoy your videos Rod whether they be spear fishing, fishing from the boat or the kayak
First 😊 Rokkit new video, let’s go! 🎣💯🔥💪🏼
Good❤
So I happened to pick up a Henckels cleaver just a few days before I saw your video where you got a custom one. I’m curious how you’re enjoying it?
I really like mine, HOWEVER my 8” Henckle chef knife is far easier to use for certain things. I don’t think I’ll ever drop the knife, but for certain tasks, I love it. I think the blade is just a tad too thick for me. Though I love the sharp corners on the spine. I can scrape ginger, carrots, etc with it.
Caught plenty bonito in the GC, never thought of eating it as were usually targeting snapper, tuna, mackerel, kingys....next bonito no strip bait, sashimi it is
Yea they are great, but definitely need to be eaten quickly or chilled super quick to stop them going mushy 👍
In WA Yakkas are yellowtail as well. Not as prolific as in the ES
Hell yea!
Babe, wake up, Rod posted another banger.
Yup
Also you should use live bait hooks and hook the yaka through the nose not in their back. Kingfish eat them headfirst!
Rubber hooks day! Can’t seem to stick them sometimes. Course I know little of Australia really but wild how that coastline differs from your usual territory, quite different, cheers man super interesting, come spring here (May) the Bonnie’s will show up some of our first ocean targets
Yes always nice getting back down to Sydney. The fishing is better up further north but I love the sand stone and structure down this way. So different 👌
Loved this! What knife are you using to do the sashimi please Rod?
As you were having the sushimi w soy & wasabi, I was having sushi w soy & wasabi made by our Korean friend. So I enjoyed an Asian meal with you, even though we are totally on the other side of the world- I am near Chicago Illinois, USA, near Lake Michigan. You twice mentioned the word “damn”. Consideration of damnation is actually a wise thing. “If you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (from being damned forever in the Lake of Fire)- Romans 10:9.
It's like I'm there with you
Breaks my heart to see so many ウニ (sea urchin) passed by... : (
for us in Indonesia...eating uncooked fish or raw fish...that's a bit strange... because for us all fish must be cooked before consumption😄🙏🙏
If im trawling a live bait behind my pa14 whats a good distance too let out mate
Nice catches Rod. how deep do you usually dive? how long can you hold your breath, the vids make it seem long.
WOOOOOO
I commend anyone can sleep with bugs bitting them throughout the night. I’m packing it up and getting outa there 😂
Yep thats a yellow tail👍 You don't like floating a dead bait out the back?
Schmick boat
You hook through the back when trolling? I’ve fished for 50yrs in lakes, and would never do that, but I guess it works in the ocean.
Interesting. Of you'd have asked me, I'd have said that that "Pike" was a Barracuda. Are they related?
Just a question Rod, there seems to be a lot of water in and around your transom all the time, is this norm with the stabicrafts?
Rod - I’ve always been curious where that olive drab shirt came from. Is it surplus?
Come to New Zealand 🇳🇿 rod ill get you some monster snapper
what model Stabi is that one cobber?
Have you ever been sonar pinged while spear fishing??
Ya
❤❤❤❤
Set the hook rod.... Watch cavy😂
Not with circle hooks mate😁👍
Why not collect some of those black sea urchin?
