      @@starfieldsignal If the loot progression was more about small increments, rather than plopping everything in your lap, the game would have more meaning, and quest would be fun. If the quest didn't fly at you, and you had to search to find them in order to trigger them, then the game would be much more fun. The game just gives you everything, and it makes exploration dry and dull. The pampered babies had fun making a game on the consumers back, instead of making a fun game for the consumer. • @Viothon
      @Viothon Před měsícem +4

      Bethesda kind of abandoned FO4 in 2019, and the modding community gave up on it sooner around 2018. The revival of interest in Fallout 4 thanks to the show, is kind of a miraculous rediscovery of what I think was the best Fallout game so far, and I know that is a very heretical statement given peoples love for NV or FO3 and even the first 2. I think what happened to Fallout 4 is in some ways what happened to Starfield. Those of us who loved it and played it, loved it and played it and stayed away from all the detractors and the stupid drama around it, those who hated it not only stopped playing the game, they made it a mission to take down Bethesda at all costs. Now all that said, I don't think that Bethesda are saints, and I could go on a list of things they could do better, but at the end of the day, I get something from their games I don't really get from other RPG's. So after all that said, I do agree with you that maybe for the creation's golden cow it is over, but support for FO4 has just been revived.

    • @CatDadGamer
      @CatDadGamer Před měsícem

      No one is forcing anyone to do anything. Just like in regular business, this additional mission was outside of the original "purchase order" thus requires additional budgeting. To make up the difference, they are charging $7 in the short term for those people who want to purchase every single thing and dont have a care about money. It's obviously probably not worth that and in time the price will either come down, or be free. Not to mention, mod authors will most likely recreate their own versions and issue them as free creation mods.

    In my view, to take a quote from the game "You can have your very own white whale". I will not buy the Bethesda bounty mission to pricy. And this is the reason why the first mission had more going for it all around. I was on another channel and they did the 2nd (700) Bethesda mission. It is a shorter mission than the first and the rewards are a sniper refile and a couple skins. There was one problem you couldn't reload the sniper refile now before you start getting all upset. He wasn't sure whether this mod wasn't compatible with one of his other mods or not. I am hoping it only effected his game. The other moders mod's are better priced and you get far more. I have mixed feelings about the first Tracker Alliance mission. The tutorial for using the scanner to locate a bounty was simple. I really enjoyed the space yard part of the mission as that is the only zero-G combat environment I have found except for the casino.
    But the end result of the mission was ruined for me because the mission design didn't account for my crew. When we boarded the ship to go to the space yard, my constellation crew came to that ship. They were giving me the usual reports when we took off and grav jumped. When my advisor and I went into the space yard, I left behind Sarah, Barrett and Sam who are all heavily armed and armored combat experienced Constellation members. What the HELL were they doing between the time I left ship and when I boarded the junker ship?
    I am trying to keep this spoiler free as possible, so I am hoping you understand why this bothers me so much.
    I am annoyed with myself, but mostly from a hindsight perspective. I didn't talk to any of my Constellation companions while we were on either ship, so maybe I missed some conversation options related to the Tracker mission. I have 3 other characters saved who can join the Trackers Alliance, so when I do, I will pay closer attention to my crew and talk to them during the mission.

    This is what happens when you have a game that probably cost well over $100 million to develop and put it on games pass. They claimed that over 6 million people have played Starfield, but how many actually paid for it especially after it's sketchy release. This should've already have been in the game on release easily. Had this been a full priced multiplatform game they probably wouldn't have to this. This inst console waring or anything. I own all current gen console and I paid full price for Starfield because I actually believed in it.

      Calm down. If all DLC ever created was supposed to be in the "base game", then the base game itself would literally never be released. Having it be paid is fine as well. It's additional content that was outside of the budget, therefore needs to be applied to a new budget... that budget has to be paid for somehow. You can simply not purchase it. In fact, as a few have already stated, someone will eventually create a free mod that does the exact same thing as the paid mod. And in time, this will cause bethesda to drop the price or make it completely free. Just take a deep breath for now and pass on the new paid additions until the market corrects it.

This starfield one is brand new and people are obviously just trying to cash in while they can. Once a mod author creates the same type of mod for free, this $10 one will become free as well. I would hold off on paying for any mods in starfield that are not Bethesda produced content. Again, the marketplace will even itself out in time. But they are waisting development resources on a half baked idea that would have been genuinely interesting if some thought had been put in it. But realisitically only exposes how limited this game is in a grand sense. As it stands most of the habs on your ship really have no real utility. As you said this would have been a great way to utalize the brigs in a more organic mannor. But instead we get a mission that realisitcally just says "hey buy our piecemeal DLCs that are likely going to be way more then they are worth. Or forgo any resolution to this story". There just seems to be this trend of bethesda wanting to nickel and dime every little thing, despite not really showing any desire to put time into making it worth the asking price. This is especially egregious when you've had modders doing this for years , for free or at the very least on no where near the budget most professional modders have to contend with. I really want to like this game and especially wanted this to be good. But even after all the good will they garnered with the last Update. Bethesda has managed to kinda drop the ball again.

      The "mod tools" were released in this update. It's called the Creation Kit. The Creations marketplace is where you will download your mods. It's all in the same marketplace now. What BGS does very well is create a base to build onto. Mod authors will use these features to build free mods on top of that you will be able to enjoy. Use skyrim for example and the Hearthfire DLC and all of the free mods that came from that. There was definitely a lot more BGS could have done, but because of budget reasons, they stick to creating a base model for passionate gamers to build onto.

    Is there a known glitch with getting the first bounty NPC to spawn? I've walked around with scanner activated for days and can't find Adrastos. I've found 8 other Red bounty NPCs, but not the guy you need to move the story forward.

      I experienced something similar one time, and I ended up leaving the planet and landing again to reload the city. That worked for me but not sure of what the exact issue was.

      Yep. I've left the plant, waited on Venas for hundreds of hours, un-installed/re-installed the game and no luck. Meanwhile, there are three NPCs that show Red for a bounty that I cant even engage with. Disappointing. @starfieldsignal

    Have they fixed the issue with the final gun u get with the extra payed mission? I have seen videos and ppl complaining that once u get the weapon reward from that payed mission u cant actually reload it even if u have ammo.

      @@starfieldsignal Maybe they did a very small unplanned patch to solve that. I remember watching a guy buying a few of the payed mods just to look at the value of them and he made it very clear in the video that the tracking alliance weapon has bugged and he wasent the only 1 that hade that issue.

    So typical of Starfield, almost there but they just stop and dont do the thing that would take it from ho hum average to great. Still my best 5/10 game but with a little more effort they could easily get it to an 8 for me. It is very unlikely that I will spend my money on this.

    I was very disappointed. It had some nice touches but was too short and ultimately unfulfilling.
    I do like the TA and the NPCs there and I think it has potential. Def longer missions or hopefully modders can populate the system with their own bounty quests in the future.

      Other than ship interior design, there's nothing gameplay wise that is really new. It's more polished and feels more stable, but Shattered Space would be a great time to start up again.

      No, it’s included in the premium edition that you can buy as an upgrade from the game pass version. It includes 1000 creation credits, shattered space, and hopefully some more stuff in the future! I would personally hold off on buying it until the DLC drops and see if it’s any good though.

    I'm commenting this on most people's concerns about the shortness of the mission. In the modders interview the modders themselves said they would be adding more content to the same mod. For example, just because its one mission right now doesn't mean the next mission could be another 7 dollars separately. It probably will be added to the same mod. Just like it says in the description for the mining conglomerate mod and the outpost luxury homes mods. They both specify that they will keep adding content to the same mod. Guys. Have faith.

    I'm not going to purchase the $7 mission. But I'm also not going to bash the price tag. Reading through the comments you will see a lot of unreasonable opinions that have no idea how game development, or business, works in general. This is most likely just immaturity from young gamers that haven't experienced real world economics. That said, you have 2 options. Either spend your money to play a mission right now, that is most likely not worth the money... or don't. The price tag is simply supply/demand. If you don't know what that means, then youtube a video about it for a crash course. Honestly, you should hold off on purchasing any creations(mods) that become available over the next few weeks until the market stabilizes and honest mod authors are able to release quality content for free. Just take a deep breath and enjoy what's available for free and wait patiently for more to come.
