Hello, I am in the process of filling out the entire visa form for my parents, but I am wondering whether to check "To visit my grandfather, grandson, brother, half-brother, step-sibling or non-dependent child who is a Canadian Citizen, a person registered under the Canadian Indian Act or a permanent resident of Canada" or
"To visit other family members not on the above list or friends for less than 6 months" since I am a permanent resident.

Without the Personal Reference code, will the application be successful? That's if I skip the PRC part and proceed to the part that has "Visitor visa, Study and/or Work permit" under 'Determine your eligibility and apply online' will the application go through without generating the Personal Reference code? Please throw more light on that part. Thank you
You can do it that way or follow the steps in the video. Both work.

Attaching it won't hurt. But, if they're exempt, you don't need to do anything for your application unless it will affect it in 1 way or another.

While filling out my application, I clicked on my child, who is less than a year, will be accomplishing me, but on payment, I only see the 185cad. I can't even find him as dependent under my submitted application, though I submitted all documents for the two of us. Please, how do I correct this?
While applying, there should've been a section for you to fill out his info as well, after declaring him. Then, at the end, under your info, you should see his. If you don't, try redoing the entire process.

The new ircc portal, it didnt not require me to fill up the form imm5257, it's weird..there was no option to upload my previous visa and other travel stamps. The new portal has lesser documents requirements.. please take a look at it. Thanks

I am applying for a visitor visa along with my children; i am not applying for my spouse and will be in my country. We are legally married.
Since my spouse will not be with us, may I have to fill-up a custody form. Or it is okay without custody form since I am the real parent of my children.

Your spouse needs to give you a notarized authorization to apply for the kids which you will upload under client Information.

How do I pay the fee?
When I’m uploading the form imm5257 it always gives me error notification that I didn’t use the latest form….. I already got validated and the barcodes. Dunno what went wrong!!!

If you are visiting a friend do I need their bank statements and documents as well even if I am financially supporting myself?
Nope, unless the friend is paying for your trip. You may, however, upload documents showing their status / employment in Canada

You're missing a document that you should upload. Or there's an issue with the system. Log out and try again

If you are there as a student and your student visa expired and you applied for an extension on your student visa, you got the permit but you now need a visa to travel to Jamaica . Should i apply for a visitor visa?
Usually when you apply for a permit you should also apply for a TRV which would be marked student. If that didn't work out, I guess you can apply for a visitor visa
I finished my undergrad in Bus Admin Major in Accounting and Finance and was conferred in December 2022. Do you think I would have a problem if I apply to Canada to do a Nursing degree? I am working and have almost $3000 Canadian saved so far. If I take out a loan from one institution and save it in another for a few months they stand a chance to find out that I owe?
Changing fields is ok as long as you explain why.
If you take out study loan, you can explain why. Many have done that.

If you select to visit a family member you will be asked for an invitation letter, for tourism you will not need an invitation letter
