After long and highly distinguished careers with other collaborators, Richard Rodgers (Composer, 1902-1979) and Oscar Hammerstein II (Librettist/Lyricist, 1895-1960) joined forces in 1943 to create the most successful partnership in American musical theater. Prior to joining forces, Rodgers collaborated with lyricist Lorenz Hart on musical comedies that epitomized wit and sophistication (Pal Joey, On Your Toes, Babes In Arms and more), while Hammerstein brought new life to operetta and created the classic Show Boat with Jerome Kern. Oklahoma!, the first Rodgers & Hammerstein musical, introduced an integrated form that became known as “the musical play.” Their shows that followed included Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I, and The Sound of Music. I find Chenoweth to be amazing. She has at least three, maybe four, singing voices. There's this one in the Oklahoma clip; the one she used as Sally Brown in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown (which is closely related to this); her "Broadway" voice, which we hear in the TV version of Music Man; and her operatic voice, which she uses in"Glitter and Be Gay" from Candide, or in her versions of the Phantom songs. She's incredibly versatile.
She also has her belting voice, like in Popular
She’s who she is for a reason. No one can do Cheno but Cheno. A gay icon, a Christian woman, a true legend. You’re forgetting her country voice.

Celeste Holm was the first who played this role in 1943 and it was Barbara Cook who played the role in the 1953-54 revival and she made an audition to play Ado Annie in the movie but a famous actress Gloria Grahame played it in the film .But she wasnt a great singer and her performance wasnt as it should be with Holm Cook or Debbie Reynols who also made the audition..Here Chenoweth sings the song as it has to be sung because Ado Annie is a funny role but you also need a great singer to do it..Excellent performance

Great, When I first saw this Movie as a kid I could not stop singing O what a beautiful morning, after a week my Dad kicked me in the butt & said ' if I hear you sing that again Ill send you to boarding school, did not know what this meant but it sounded bad, so I stoped singing it, my farther told me so often I was a stupid I grew up thinking I was, he was a intelligent man but a indignant arrogant one eyed jerk...
