@@makavali-yb7xv i would blame the lack of a pivot over Xavi, he is doing a good job given what he has but rebuilding is never done in a season, Im not saying he is not doing mistakes but given what the situation is Xavi is owed more time and a decent pivot before giving up on him. Also, i would say the players need to be more physically intense press more cover more and just work more.

Balde is way more faster than Cancelo. And is a better defender overall. If he develops his passing and final ball then he will be class. We should have invested on Balde in this season instead of Cancelo but we paid the price.

That's what really frustrates me knowing that we had a chance to sign Alex Grimaldo on a free transfer (who later on joined Leverkusen and was one of their main contrubutors this season). That is why I don't trust Xavi and the current board on signings. They sign pure duds and waste money.

I don't understand why the board didn't even consider signing Grimaldo last summer when he was a free agent. This is a player who most likely would've said yes to Barca in a heartbeat if he was given the opportunity to rejoin the club.

TBH I don't think attitude is our biggest issue at the moment. It used to be an issue when Messi was here due to the likes of the old guard (Not including Leo). But I think this squad has learned to fight and battle through adversity, and not fear any opponent. If anything is our downfall, it's Xavi's inexperience and tactics

We have very little options with Balde being injured, but Cancelo can not play LB in any big games if he stays. I would prefer if we didn't take him, got rid of Alonso, and got a semi-decent proven LB, to give competition to Balde but probably stick on the bench. If we don't have any money then why not try Faye out there? Worth a go imo.
Xavi should stay, and he should get actual support from the board, and fans should stop jumping on his back for poor individual mistakes and performances by certain players. With a fully fit squad Xavi can do great things, I can feel it.

Best solution would be to have one defensive fullback and one attacking too choose from both RB and LB. Cancelo has helped us a lot this season, but in games like PSG or Madrid, we need extra cover in defence because of them exploiting the wings. We have Hector Fort and Juli Araujo, also Kounde and Balde. So we are fortunate as of now.

Jamie I’m yet to see you analyze our biggest mistake (positioning when attacking or defending). I thinks that’s one thing our opponents often capitalized on to hurt us badly. Use our games with PSG and Madrid as case study.
05:20 Exactly what I`ve said in the previous video, look at our formation, its toooo narrow and wingers have bunch of space from both sides, same as in RM game, too narrow and too much space down the sides.
And just like I`ve said its actually neither Cancelo`s nor Kounde`s mistake (since he made somewhat the same mistake with Bellingham`s goal), its formation issue, Cancelo can be good defensively, but only when not central, when he is in proper LB/RB space he is more than fine, he pocketed Dembele many times until he was forced to play more centrally and that is when he started making mistakes, because he is uncomfortable in that position, Xavi as a manager should know better where his players are the strongest and where they are weakest, and Xavi needs to make formation wider, especially when defending, whenever we played wider our defense was amazing, because everyone covered their space properly, but when you make it narrow and too crowded someone will always be late, because they feel much safer thinking that their teammate is close by and they shouldnt rush.
We need a 2nd solid LB. Cancelo is a solid RB and we NEED a solid RB since Kounce hates being a RB and might even leave if he doesnt get his way. Pivot is a must and Victor Roque should start instead of lewandowski.
Any other youtuber would've lost all the enthusiasm making Barca vids atp, and I'm sure u lost a good amount too. But the fact that you still keep on making videos while sounding as always, and not losing hope is deeply admirable. Keep up the work bro! Visca el Barca!
This was a really tough game for the team. Playing away AND playing at bernabeu stadium WITHOUT proper goal line tech or VAR that's actually capable of thinking and breathing at the same time is extra hard. Realistic score line should have been 2-3 to Barca (no pen, this is the same thing that happened to Saka and Neuer challenge in UCL, and that Lunin ball/goal should have stood).
And Cancelo, seeing him allow the exact same type of goal in both very high profile games is also heartbreaking. His goal against Celta to get Barca ahead in the last moment of the game is still fresh in my memory and his help in UCL before PSG games too. It's interesting to see the player limits being exposed like that. It might be mental fatigue too. He is still a unit of a player though!
My heart is also broken because Frenkie got re-injured and quite badly this time around. I hope he comes back well recovered for the next season.
Xavi's team lacks a connector between defense to midfield. A role Xavi used to play. That's why defenders take much of the time with the ball. A scoring team must have the ball in the opponent's half most of the time. It also lacks an absorber in the defensive midfield role. Tournament winning teams MUST always have this kind of play on pitch. Xavi's team also lacks a player that drives a ball from 3rd quarter to the opponent's box, who gives that clear cut pass into the box, a person with speed, accuracy and stability on the ball.(Iniesta, Kaka, Messi, Modric). A player with a high sense of vision to send high power shorts outside box or that split pass between defenders. This team also lacks a dead ball specialist, a freekick specialist. All winning teams must have these ingredients on pitch. This Barca lacks players who guarantee a goal in the 80th minute and in the dying minutes of the game.
My problem in the game is the ref and also blame on lewa and raphinha for not passing the damn ball but another thing is how the moment that Jamie announced that there is no goal line technology I said from day 1 this would happen tebas is a madridista a he is stupid to think that we don't see it is crazy he needs to be put out of office every decision he makes is against barca. The team could have played way better but this was a season to forget

I am the biggest fan of Barcelona from Bhutan🇧🇹, I am really concerning about recent club performance and some other players performance. with the decline in Cancelo performance in past few games I feel we really need Balde to come back and give some game time to Hector forth to boost his confidence. xavi deserves to continue for a longer time because he has a project to bring back glory days for all the fans but thing management needs to do is give him the full authority regarding the transfer of players and buy the players he wishes too.

Initially I was so mad at xavi especially the el Classico in Jan I was gutted but that’s the only time his tactics didn’t work rest of all season most of the time it’s the players fault, there’s no coordination between them
Yeah as a former LB/RB for my high school and club (ik very amateur but it proves my point more), I ALWAYS made sure there was no one sneaking out of my Peripheral vision when they were on the attack. I'd say it was 85% Cancelo's mistake, but if you replay it, you see Felix is watching as well and doesn't say anything to Cancelo about Vasquez running in. If I was Felix I'd simply yell "Cancelo, behind!" But again, definitely Cancelo's the major culprit
I am All for xavi staying but there needs to be major squad revamp for me it could be:
1) Frenkie De Jong (good player but wrong profile for us)
2) Ferran Torres ( mediocre at best bad finishing)
3) Sergio dest alonso etc
4) Raphina ( he has been good but we need someone more better 1v1)
5) Romeu
All of this would bring around 260 mil to this club out of whichwe get to spend 100 mil this summer. Priorities this summer:
1) Kimmich (50 mil)
2) Leroy Sane (60 mil)
3) Bernado Silva (50 mil)
This should patch up the team and make it more balanced
I’m not going to lie, I want Xavi to stay. I think he’s made a lot of good changes and improvements to the squad. A lot of the disappointments we’ve had with Xavi weren’t really his fault, including the recent PSG and Madrid defeats. We need better players, once we get that I’m sure Xavi can thrive here. A solid left back would be a good start. If Balde won’t be ready by the start of next season we need to make that a priority on the transfer market. If Gavi is back next season we need to focus hard on finding a good DM to replace Busquets. Tonali seems to me like an economical and good choice for Barcelona. He’s also young at 23 and has time to improve.
The point is. A lot of our top players have been injured. We need to cut Xavi some slack.
Joao Cancelo definitely dropped the ball in both of those big games but he has also HEAVILY contributed throughout our season, especially at a time when we lack quality fullbacks, let alone depth in that position. If you don't think we need to extend Cancelo, than I think there is no hope for you. We need Cancelo and Fort on the right, with Balde and someone else on the left.. The man has spent how many games forced to play out of position and has done far more good than bad with his time there.
Frenky’s injury is not one he picked up just from running. Valverde’s tackle was very harsh on a 50-50 ball.
This has nothing to do with the medical staff…
As far as Cancelo goes, despite the horrific mistakes he made, he has been one of our best players over all. We should sign him as he won't be our only option. We still hot Balde & Fort to push him. So it's great to have this world class options. As well as we might use Cancelo as a LM/ LW in front of BALDE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Let’s be smart with our analysis here…we need a stop gap at manager for 1 more year. 2025 has big name managers available , for example Enrique, Klopp, etc., and our financial situation will be as such where we can go out and buy one of these managers, their technical staff, and bring in a couple big signings.
While I feel we need a new manager now, just taking whoever is available now as the long term solution is not the way to go if we want to rebuild the club and make it back to the elite.

On Cancelo, he's a type of player we should get *after* we get the DM and Winger imo. But he shouldn't start in big games. If everyone is fit, it should be Kounde, Araujo, Cubarsi, Balde.
But to have a player like Cancelo as depth is incredible. But it shouldn't be a priority with the youth options we have as well.
On Xavi, he needs to feel motivation and the energy to continue, otherwise, it has to be Flick for me, and let Marquez continue his brilliant work with the B-team.
I don't even know at this point. I say since we don't have anything to play for try Cancelo as a midfielder and a winger in the remaining La Liga games, and play Hector Fort at LB.

La Masia has really helped us get out of a terrible situation in terms of our squad, but we can't expect la masia to solve all of our problems. Either we spend in the summer window or we can expect a similar season next year, in any case Laporta needs to make sure that the manager situation is taken care of soon.

The problem about barca is leadership, there is a lack of willing to win at all cost until the very last minutes with certains players who dont have enough character. We need to be solid and not shake at every dangers, champions dont fumble and dont make rookies mistakes, lack of encouragement between players we saw when dejong was injured no players was around supporting him, and lastly xavi not reinsuring players and being more stressed and pessimist than players
For a 4-3-3 type team that excels with heavy pressing, we have surplus of midfielders and lack of rapid wingers. half of Raphina's work is his unrelenting pressing, Fermin is Gavi 2.0 and Lamine drops back quite a lot now. Unload midfielders, purchase CDMs and 1-on-1 wingers and put Pedri/Gundo in their number 8 roles instead of a 6.

What I have noticed that Xavi and Frank Lampard are the same managers when they were players absolute; there was no doubt they were great players, but their managerial experience is a little lacking experience even the clubs and fans gave them so much time to do so. However, utterly, their improvement is very slow. We do respect them, but there is no time. The big clubs demand that swift results .

What many of the armchair experts haven't seen this season is the limited squad depth we have. If MATS gets injured (which he did), our backup is Peña and he lacks experience and game time. If Gavi is injured, aside from Pedri (who was also injured) and Frenkie (who was also injured at the same time) we were pretty much stuck with Gundo, Roberto and I think Romeu was also playing... that is a pretty shaky midfield ngl. If a star of our's is injured, the next best option is pretty bad in comparison. That is why we struggled. Every team has injuries each year, but the better teams have good squad depth so that when injuries happen, the effects are minimised
Marquez can be a blessing in disguise to be honest about this speculation. It's a light rumor yes.. but just like pep at Barca in his early days his expectations would be high but his potential is yet to be judged.
I am genuinely worried about this team for next season. Nobody seems to have a clear plan of direction. Who’s really leading this club, everyone seems to be winging it.
POV: LaPorta should appoint Rafael Marquez as the assistant coach. Xavi and Marquez know each other quite well -- 2006 (Rijkaard) and 2009 (Guardiola) UCL winners. Xavi can act as offensive coordinator and Marquez can be the defensive coordinator.

I see Cancelo as the same type of player as jordi Alba. He is incredible in la liga, but cant be relied on in Champions league or Huge games. Offensively they both are fantastic, but they both always costs goals and gets very nervous in the Big games.
about both Joao's they had great starts but have since failed miserably to deliver, you would think they'd try harder to convince the club that we need them. another thing the club cannot afford is to wait any longer to sign Flick, Barcelona cannot afford to stall anymore while RM are signing more and more players, we are falling behind and next year does not look promising at this time.

Xavi staying would be a huge mistake. This is a squad built to his liking. Kounde, Christensen, Lewa, Gundo, Ferran and Cancelo were all players he wanted and the club got for him. Yes, we didn't get Zubi but Zubi didn't want to come and not having a playing style can’t be put down to no getting one player. Xavi should just go.
If Xavi says now he's staying but we don't have good results in the remaining matches of the season and the necessary changes aren't made next summer, the fans will turn on him and Laporta will be next. This is their last chance, I hope they make it count but I have very little faith. I don't trust we will finish 2nd, I don't even trust we'll finish 4th this season.
Barcelona pressing on the field is very poor. They are not able to maintain pressure. The entire team is weak. I miss Gavi in our midfield.
I am guilty of this, but I see that it needs to change. Cancelo has been amazing all season long but now we are willing to clash on him as he messed up the last 2 games. I don't like how we treat this team that has changed all things around after the Bilbao loss.
We need ti support our team. The only person I think we need to see more accepting a bench position time to time is Lewandowski. I am not talking because his choice of actions was not the best, but because it is killing the youth mentality on the bench like Roque, who lets remember came in with a big fee.
We as Barça fans need to understand that we're still in a rebuilding phase. There's no doubt this group has potential and that we've played well over the last month and a half. And, with a little more luck, we could easily be in the semi finals of the UCL and only 5 points behind Madrid. But, football gods had other ideas. The summer coming up is huge - I personally would prefer a world class coach, proven winner, not afraid of the outside noise, but it doesn't seem like there are many options now. If the board can get Xavi a true defensive mid like Zubimendi and a more threatening winger like Nico Williams - I think we'll see massive improvement overall. That being said, funds will have to be brought in - I think Barca should seriously consider offers for Frenkie, Raphinha, and Lewandowski.

He continuously said no one is bigger than the club, even Messi leaving. Why do you not honour your words with Xavi??
Barca's problem isn't with the play. they're small things such as intensity, inten, and fitness. these are our biggest issues now. at least you have an option who would change this situation. you want to buy a world-class DM, which can cost you more than 80+ mil, some options you have play double pivot, and we can have the players play double pivot. why don't you bring the coach who can save you that signing money and invest that money rather in coaching??
